Best Beauty Discoveries 2025 | Skincare

best skincare discoveries 2025

Last week was makeup and now it’s the turn of the skincare I discovered in 2025!

currentbody skin LED red light therapy face mask series 2 review

I’m going to start with the CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 RRP £399.99 | $639.99 CAD | $469.99 USD which I bought myself right at the end of 2024! I was so consistent with this mask throughout 2025 and use it on average 5 nights a week and I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it! I have a whole post on it here with more information but in short, my skin is more even, calmer and much less inflamed. Darker pigmentation spots take less time to fade, active spots aren’t active for as long, my skin looks and feels smoother and firmer and fine lines aren’t pronounced or getting deeper. My complexion is brighter and clearer and just better than when I wasn’t using it! It is most definitely an investment but well worth the money! It is a nightly ritual for me, and my skin is reaping the benefits! I have an affiliated discount code - DANIELLEBB - which gives a 10% discount year round and for a few weeks around Black Friday this increases to 20% off!

I found it so tough to pick just one cleanser, but I didn’t want this post to have 20 products in it! The Farmacy Green Clean Gentle Creamy Cleanser RRP $44 CAD | £31* was one I finished first from a few Farmacy cleanser faves I received this year (read more here) and this one is great for drier and more sensitive skins! It’s fragrance free and contains moringa as well as oats and Vitamin F to sooth and nourish the skin. It feels creamy and hydrating and I reached for it especially when my skin was feeling in any way sensitised but its just such a lovely second or morning cleanse no matter what your skin type is!

I became obsessed with the Farmacy Brighten Up 3% TXA Dark Spot Toner RRP $52 CAD | £31* last year! It might just be my favouite of Farmacy’s three toner offerings, but it was Hard decision! It claims to reduce the look of dark spots in just 7 days and I would have to agree! It contains 3% tranexamic acid to work on aforementioned dark spots and to brighten as well as 5% PHA and azelaic acid to even skin tone and gently exfoliate. This has worked so well to brighten my skin and help lighten some stubborn dark spots I get after breakouts! It’s gentle and I love using it in both my AM and PM routines!

The Glow Recipe Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner RRP $52 CAD via IPSY | £34* pleasantly surprised me last year, probably because I have been underwhelmed by most other Glow Recipe products I have tried! This formula is cooling, brightening and hydrating and it didn’t smell overpowering like their watermelon line. It contains Cloudberry which is packed with Vitamins C and E and Coenzyme Q10 which is antioxidant and strengthens skin. The bottle is only 75mls so I went through it quite quickly and it was hard to get the last quarter out as it’s a jelly-like consistency and comes in pump packaging and I just repurchased as Sephora had 50% off last week! Read more about it and the Farmacy toner here!

My retinal product of the year was the Sachi Skin Ursolic and Acid and Retinal Overnight Reform RRP $129 CAD | £78*. This is a 0.05% stabilised retinaldehyde and also contains 12 antioxidants and Ayurvedic botanicals, including Encapsulated Glutathione, Superoxide Dismutase (also found in one of my favourite facial mists from NIOD!), Niacinamide, Bakuchiol, Rosehip, and Carrot Root Extract. It also features Liposomal Ursolic Acid and Tripeptide and these all work together to brighten, protect, support collagen, firmness, and skin renewal. I used this 1-2 times per week and noticed a real difference in my skin - it felt smoother, I had less congestion on my chin and jawline, and my fine lines looked softer and less obvious. It also helped fade residual dark spots and my skin felt more plump and even-toned, and I looked fresher in the morning! I love how gentle but effective this is – it is recommended to layer it under or over moisturiser but I personally didn’t have to buffer it as it didn’t cause any irritation or flakiness (I am used to 0.05-0.06% retinals though!). I also love the airless pump packaging – it feels sleek, hygienic, and makes it easy to get the right amount of product each time! I got around 5 months use (using 1-2 times a week) so feel it’s reasonably priced for such an effective product!

Rounding up my best skincare discoveries of last year with a couple of SPF’s now and the haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ RRP $23.02 CAD* became one of my favourite SPF’s this summer and I love the pump packaging it comes in! It’s a lightweight, non-greasy formula that doesn’t leave a white cast and I think it would work for all skin types! I use 2 finger lengths worth, and it sits so well under my makeup, there is no pilling and my skin feels well protected! It contains 100% Korean black rice, rich in antioxidants, vitamin E for free-radical protection and skin moisturising Ceramide NP & Heartleaf Extract. Use my affiliated discount code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% extra off at YesStyle and read more about my K Beauty Faves here!

Lastly, I have to mention the Naked Sundays CabanaClear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50 $24.99 CAD | £25 | $22 USD*. This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup, I can’t fault it! Read more about Naked Sundays here!

I would love to know your thoughts on any of these products if you have tried them! Check out my previous years posts below!

Naturium Black Friday Sale Guide | Best Products Worth the Hype

naturium-black-friday-sale-best-products

With Black Friday happening, I thought I would do a roundup of one of my favourite sales of the year and talk through some of my top picks from Naturium! The last couple of years I have done a big Naturium order in November for Black Friday and stocked myself up for the year ahead with some key bodycare and skincare products! I just love the sizes and how well the products work for me and it’s a good time to splurge right now as they have 25% off with the code CYBER2025 and have free gifts when you spend $60+ USD and $100+ USD!

What I hadn't counted on, was that shipping to Canada would be paused (I assume due to the ongoing rotating Canada Post strike) so looks like I will be saving myself some money this year :( It's worth checking Space NK in the UK and Shoppers Drugmart in Canada over Black Friday too as I'm sure Naturium will go on sale there aswell! Their products really are some of my favourite body care to use so let's get onto the review!

naturium bodycare skincare review

The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash RRP $17 USD

This is one of Naturium’s cult products and I remember when it first came out and everyone wanted to get their hands on it! I’ve been through quite a few bottles of it now and it’s a super hydrating body wash that changes from an oil consistency to a gentle, milky lather. I love this for my skin in the winter as it’s so nourishing and doesn’t strip my skin. It’s formulated with 50% glycerin, a blend of linoleic-rich oils and plant-derived squalane, and is rich in humectants that hydrate and nourish skin. It doesn’t leave a residue, leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and hydrated and lasts ages too!

naturium-glycolic-bio-lipid-body-lotion-review

Bio-Lipid Restoring Body Lotion RRP $15 USD

This is a really robust body lotion and I love having it in my collection! It works to replenish moisture, leaving skin feeling soft and supple and is formulated with omega fatty acids, shea butter, B vitamins and sodium PCA. It hydrates my skin and absorbs quickly with no greasy residue left behind. I particularly love it in the winter as it feels a little thicker than some other lotions I’ve tried.

Skin-Renewing Retinol Body Lotion – Jumbo size RRP $44 USD

Probably one of my favourite products (along with the glycolic body lotion!) and I love that this comes in a jumbo size! It is formulated with an encapsulated stabilized pure retinol complex and allantoin and leaves skin feeling soft, supple, and nourished while also minimizing the look of redness and irritation. It has been developed for all skin types and I find it gentle enough for everyday use but it really does improve the look of my skin and smooths textured areas like KP on the backs of my arms as well as keeping it hydrated! Like the Bio-Lipid lotion, its creamy and absorbs quickly! Obviously, if you are using in the summer, make sure you apply SPF!

naturium-kp-glycolic-scrub-body-lotion-review

The Smoother Glycolic Acid Body Lotion RRP $17 USD

Like I said, one of my favourite Naturium products! This one contains 10% glycolic acid, working to smooth texture and brighten tone and decrease the appearance of dark spots. It’s also got shea butter to help boost skin's moisture. All three body lotions I have tried have similar consistencies so again this one is creamy and hydrating and helps with exfoliation and smooths my skin, working overtime the KP on the backs of my arms this summer, so it was non-existent! My skin tone looks more even and brighter when I use it and I need to get a new one ASAP!

KP Body Scrub & Mask RRP $18 USD

The body lotion goes very well together with the KP scrub and mask! This is a body exfoliant containing pumice and jojoba esters, plus AHA/BHA/PHA chemical exfoliants. It feels very “scrubby” and grips easily to the skin if you want to keep it on longer as a mask and works to smooth any rough or dry skin on my body. It exfoliates well both physically and chemically and leaves my skin feeling super soft and looking brighter!

The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash RRP $17 USD

The bodywash form the glycolic range is also a good one! It exfoliates and resurfaces rough and uneven, bumpy skin texture and the formula contains a blend of AHA’s including glycolic, lactic, pyruvic and tartaric acids. It works well to slough off dead skin cells and reveal softer, smoother and more supple looking skin. I didn’t realise, but this can also be used as a facial cleanser! It’s also gentle enough for daily use and is a creamy formula!

All of the bodycare is unfragranced which has its positives and negatives (I do love fragrance!) but I appreciate its simplicity and the sizes and prices are so good! Moving onto skincare now and I haven’t tried quite as much as I would have liked to but I do love what I have tried of it too!

naturium-multi-peptide-review

Multi-Peptide Moisturizer RRP $20 USD

This is such a great daily moisturiser and contains a multi-peptide blend, encapsulated ethylated vitamin C and panthenol to target the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It feels lightweight and I tended to use in the AM more so than at night as it worked so well under my makeup! It absorbed quickly and hydrated my skin well, smoothing texture and leaving it feeling supported!

Multi-Peptide Eye Cream RRP $16 USD

The sister to the face moisturiser and another simple but well formulated, lightweight product! Again, this helps to hydrate and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and contains peptides, including Argireline, known as “botox in a bottle”. It sat so well under my makeup and kept my under eyes hydrated and fine lines at bay!

Phyto-Glow Lip Balm Petal RRP $10 USD

Lastly, one of my favourite lip products I think I have ever tried! The shade pictured is Peach as I wanted to try a new shade but Petal is definitely my favourite! It’s a super nourishing, glossy balm containing shea butter, cupuaçu butter and plant squalane to moisturize and cushion lips. My lips are so hydrated when I use this and I don’t need to constantly top up as it lasts so long on my lips – it’s perfect all year round but especially for the Canadian winter! They are left feeling soft and smooth and I love the glossy finish and sheer hint of colour. I had some major issues with the first one I bought which burst at the end but customer service were great and I duct taped it and used it up anyway! It has a non-offensive vanilla scent and is the perfect amount of stickiness for me. Thankfully I didn’t have the same issue which my second balm so it seems like the packaging issues have been sorted!

naturium-black-friday-haul-review

I also have a few products in my stash that I haven’t got round to trying yet including the Energizer Mandelic Acid Body Wash, Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.10% and Vitamin C Complex Cleanser and I have high hopes for them too! Similarly I have also tried The Brightener Vitamin C Brightening Body Wash (lightweight, hydrating and evened my skin tone!), The Soother Sensitive Skin Body Wash (simple and gentle body wash but discontinued) and the Skin Soothing Recovery Lotion (smelt awful but worked well though now also discontinued!).

As I mentioned, Naturium are one of my favourite brands expecially for bodycare and have featured on my blog before in the following blog posts if you want to read more!

Best Beauty Discoveries 2024 | Skincare

Last week it was makeup and this week I have my favourite skincare discoveries of 2024! Again, these aren’t necessarily new releases, 2024 is just when I tried them!

best beauty discoveries 2024 skincare daniellesbeautyblog

Starting with the one product I didn’t hang onto the packaging for, the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm RRP £38. I used this up quite early in the year and it was a beautiful fist cleanse! It’s a soft balm with a citrus scent that smells amazing. It contains plant oils, olive oil and grapeseed oil as well as persimmon and Vitamin E (think fatty acids and antioxidants). It feels very luxurious and I didn’t need much to get my full face of makeup off and it left my skin feeling hydrated as well as clean! Read my full review here!

Moving onto eye creams and I really enjoyed two this year! The Lancome Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Eye Serum RRP $120.50 CAD | £69* is the pricier of two pricey options here but has worked so well for me. The formula features three separate serums (Hyaluronic Acid for hydration, Vitamin C and Niacinamide to brighten and Vitamin F for skin barrier support) made more potent with the addition of a tripeptide for advanced anti-aging care. It feels lightweight and absorbs well and has helped brighten and smooth my eye area, kept fine lines at bay and helped reduce the look of my eye bags and dark circles!

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Creme Eye Cream RRP $100 CAD | £56 is another good one and probably the most hydrating eye cream I have ever used. This is a silky gel and works so well to hydrate under and around my eyes reducing fine lines! I didn’t notice a huge difference in under eye darkness which it does claim to target but I still really like it because of how smoothing I found it! It also claims to fight the

effects of blue light on skin’s appearance, as well as other environmental aggressors like pollution which I love as I stare at a computer or my phone for most of the day. It absorbs fast and works well under makeup too!

The REN Radiance PHA Exfoliating RRP £34* was my favourite exfoliation discovery this year. It contains a blend of chemical, enzymatic and physical exfoliants, yet still feels gentle, removes dead skin and leaves it feeling smooth and looking brighter and more even! This also seems to be out of stock everywhere at the moment so must be a popular one!

I have loved the Sioris Drops of Omija Calming Mist RRP $34.48 CAD* - Omija being an antioxidant and inflammatory ingredient that strengthens the skin barrier derived from the reddish berry fruit of Schisandra chinensis also known as five-flavour berry/fruit plant which is native to Korea. This contains 34% Omija extract, Centella Asiatica extrace, aloe vera leaf juice, Zinc PCA and beta-glucan and is so soothing and calming! My skin feels nicely hydrated, redness is reduced and my skin barrier feels strong! I love the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and I prefer this to the Sioris Time is Running Out Mist!

I discovered one of the best Vitamin C serums I have used last year (and one of the most expensive too!) in the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic RRP $208 CAD | £165*. This contains 15% pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), 1% Vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic Acid to enhance protection against environmental damage that can contribute to visible signs of aging. It is a beautiful formulation that absorbed quickly and didn’t pill with other products or makeup, helped brighten my skin and kept it looking more even. Marks from any spots that popped up while I was using this faded much quicker too! I didn’t notice my nasolabial folds forming a fine line at all which is the first thing I normally do notice when it comes to signs of aging! I can definitely see the hype with this and if you are in a position to afford it, I cannot recommend enough! Read my full review here!

For moisturisers, last year I loved the Vichy Mineral 89 100H Moisture Boosting Cream Rich RRP $45.95 CAD | £24*. It’s formulated for dry skin and contains hyaluronic acid, squalane, vitamins E and B3 to help diminish the look of fine lines and texture. Despite being a rich cream, this was great for my combo skin in the morning as well as the evening. It kept my skin hydrated and looking plump and sat well under my makeup! My skin drank this up overnight as well and my skin felt supple and smooth the whole time I was using this! Read my full Vichy Mineral 89 range review here!

VICHY MINERAL 89 100H MOISTURE BOOSTING CREAM REVIEW

A more recent addition is the Farmacy Honey Halo Ultra-Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer RRP $65 CAD | £44* and I am so happy to have this in my skincare collection! It is an intense moisturiser containing ceramides and honey and is deeply hydrating and replenishes dry skin, smooths fine lines and sits perfectly under makeup too! It’s creamy and works equally well for both AM and PM and I love the jar it comes in too! My skin was feeling so sensitised and rough a few months ago and this really helped calm it down and get it back to normal!

I took the Tocobo Bio Watery Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ RRP $30 CAD to Mexico with me earlier this year and it was amazing! It’s a chemical sunscreen containing mung bean extract to soothe irritation, along with bio-hyaluronic acid to boost skin moisture. It felt lightweight and absorbed quickly into my skin leaving no white cast (I have fair skin for reference!) and sat beautifully under makeup with no pilling! My skin was protected and I didn’t get burnt on my face or ears while using it! Use my code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% off on YesStyle! Read my full review here!

The Dr Ceuracle Cica Regen Vegan Sun SPF50+ PA++++ RRP $27 CAD* also impressed me this year! It’s another chemical sunscreen formulated with centella asiatica extract and bamboo complex and helps calms inflammation and protects skin against external aggressors. It’s a waterproof formula in a lightweight cream texture and like the Tocobo this absorbs quickly into skin leaving no white cast and doesn’t pill!

Lastly, the Lanolips 12-Hour Overnight Lip Mask RRP £13 was my go-to overnight lip treatment for most of the year! It’s made with lanolin to deeply hydrate as well as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and ceramides. This has a super thick texture with some stick to it and lasts all night leaving my lips so soft and smooth in the morning!

Most of these products are now finished or very nearly ready to be and I am gutted as I have loved them! Looking forward to trying some new products this year and seeing what comes out on top! Skincare | Six Serums Worth Trying for Bright, Clear, Smooth Skin

I did a similar post to this about three serums I was loving back in 2022 so I thought since all of these are now finished or almost finished, it was time for another! Keep reading if you want to know my top picks for bright, clear and smooth skin!

six serums for clear bright and smooth skin

Starting with a nice all-rounder and the Biotherm Life Plankton Elixir RRP $109 CAD* is a beautiful hydrating and soothing serum that contains glycerin, life plankton and Vitamin C. It is scented (which is something I don’t mind in skincare), and I am obsessed with the smell – it’s so fresh and “blue” and it really adds to the experience for me. This makes my skin feel hydrated and supported and it looks brighter and feels smoother! I notice my fine lines less and I love the packaging too, the dropper has a chrome look, it just feels so luxe! I think this has recently had a slight update to the formula but I’m sure it’s just as good!

Sticking with Biotherm and the Blue Retinol Night Serum RRP $103 CAD* contains 0.25% retinol as well as life plankton, glycerin, HA and niacinamide. This worked well to smooth and even my skin tone while targeting fine lines and I used it 2-3 times a week. The formula is creamy and didn’t cause any sensitivity or peeling for me! Both of these were also included in my Best Beauty Discoveries of 2023 post! Read more about Biotherm here!

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair RRP $115 CAD | £65 is a serum that’s easy to see why it gets cult status now I’ve gone through a full bottle! It’s a restorative serum containing peptides and hyaluronic and antioxidants and helps protect against UV damage and repair skin. It’s called night repair but can be used AM or PM though I tend to use it in the evening and I wake up with hydrated, plump and firm skin. Read more here! Already repurchased!

My Vitamin C pick is the priciest product here but one that has worked so well for me I had to include it! The Skinceuticals C E Ferulic RRP $208 CAD | £165 GBP* contains 15% pure Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), 1% Vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic Acid. It claims to improve signs of aging and photodamage, the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, and the loss of firmness, while brightening skin’s complexion. This worked really well to target my fine lines and leftover marks from spots faded much quicker. It is a beautiful formula that absorbed quickly, helped brighten my skin and kept it looking more even. Marks from any spots that popped up while I was using this faded much quicker and I didn’t notice my nasolabial folds forming a fine line at all which is the first thing I normally do notice when it comes to signs of aging! The bottle lasted me just over three months with daily use which I thought was good but this is definitely pricey! Read more about Skinceuticals Vitamin C range here!

While they are best known for their Vitamin C line, Skinceuticals also have a vast range of hyaluronic acid based serums. The Skinceuticals Retexturising Activator RRP $112 CAD* contains 25% Hydroxyethyl Urea, Kombucha as well as glycerin and hyaluronic acid and was gentle to use despite having the resurfacing power of a daily 20% glycolic acid treatment. As well as being hydrating it made my skin feel and look so smooth. I used this daily and my skin looked brighter and my skin barrier felt strong.

Lastly, the Pixi Clarity Concentrate RRP $34 CAD | £26* which has been my go-to when I have been experiencing breakouts and it’s been working a treat! It contains glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid as well as probiotics and aloe and really helps to gently exfoliate my skin while still keeping it hydrated and my breakouts have been healing much faster with use! I don’t think this would work miracles if you are experiencing severe acne but for the usual time of the month breakouts, it’s great!

Read about some other serums I highly recommend here! Let me know if you have tried any of these and what you thought or your favourite serum!
