Best Beauty Discoveries 2025 | Skincare

best skincare discoveries 2025

Last week was makeup and now it’s the turn of the skincare I discovered in 2025!

currentbody skin LED red light therapy face mask series 2 review

I’m going to start with the CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 RRP £399.99 | $639.99 CAD | $469.99 USD which I bought myself right at the end of 2024! I was so consistent with this mask throughout 2025 and use it on average 5 nights a week and I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it! I have a whole post on it here with more information but in short, my skin is more even, calmer and much less inflamed. Darker pigmentation spots take less time to fade, active spots aren’t active for as long, my skin looks and feels smoother and firmer and fine lines aren’t pronounced or getting deeper. My complexion is brighter and clearer and just better than when I wasn’t using it! It is most definitely an investment but well worth the money! It is a nightly ritual for me, and my skin is reaping the benefits! I have an affiliated discount code - DANIELLEBB - which gives a 10% discount year round and for a few weeks around Black Friday this increases to 20% off!

I found it so tough to pick just one cleanser, but I didn’t want this post to have 20 products in it! The Farmacy Green Clean Gentle Creamy Cleanser RRP $44 CAD | £31* was one I finished first from a few Farmacy cleanser faves I received this year (read more here) and this one is great for drier and more sensitive skins! It’s fragrance free and contains moringa as well as oats and Vitamin F to sooth and nourish the skin. It feels creamy and hydrating and I reached for it especially when my skin was feeling in any way sensitised but its just such a lovely second or morning cleanse no matter what your skin type is!

I became obsessed with the Farmacy Brighten Up 3% TXA Dark Spot Toner RRP $52 CAD | £31* last year! It might just be my favouite of Farmacy’s three toner offerings, but it was Hard decision! It claims to reduce the look of dark spots in just 7 days and I would have to agree! It contains 3% tranexamic acid to work on aforementioned dark spots and to brighten as well as 5% PHA and azelaic acid to even skin tone and gently exfoliate. This has worked so well to brighten my skin and help lighten some stubborn dark spots I get after breakouts! It’s gentle and I love using it in both my AM and PM routines!

The Glow Recipe Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner RRP $52 CAD via IPSY | £34* pleasantly surprised me last year, probably because I have been underwhelmed by most other Glow Recipe products I have tried! This formula is cooling, brightening and hydrating and it didn’t smell overpowering like their watermelon line. It contains Cloudberry which is packed with Vitamins C and E and Coenzyme Q10 which is antioxidant and strengthens skin. The bottle is only 75mls so I went through it quite quickly and it was hard to get the last quarter out as it’s a jelly-like consistency and comes in pump packaging and I just repurchased as Sephora had 50% off last week! Read more about it and the Farmacy toner here!

My retinal product of the year was the Sachi Skin Ursolic and Acid and Retinal Overnight Reform RRP $129 CAD | £78*. This is a 0.05% stabilised retinaldehyde and also contains 12 antioxidants and Ayurvedic botanicals, including Encapsulated Glutathione, Superoxide Dismutase (also found in one of my favourite facial mists from NIOD!), Niacinamide, Bakuchiol, Rosehip, and Carrot Root Extract. It also features Liposomal Ursolic Acid and Tripeptide and these all work together to brighten, protect, support collagen, firmness, and skin renewal. I used this 1-2 times per week and noticed a real difference in my skin - it felt smoother, I had less congestion on my chin and jawline, and my fine lines looked softer and less obvious. It also helped fade residual dark spots and my skin felt more plump and even-toned, and I looked fresher in the morning! I love how gentle but effective this is – it is recommended to layer it under or over moisturiser but I personally didn’t have to buffer it as it didn’t cause any irritation or flakiness (I am used to 0.05-0.06% retinals though!). I also love the airless pump packaging – it feels sleek, hygienic, and makes it easy to get the right amount of product each time! I got around 5 months use (using 1-2 times a week) so feel it’s reasonably priced for such an effective product!

Rounding up my best skincare discoveries of last year with a couple of SPF’s now and the haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ RRP $23.02 CAD* became one of my favourite SPF’s this summer and I love the pump packaging it comes in! It’s a lightweight, non-greasy formula that doesn’t leave a white cast and I think it would work for all skin types! I use 2 finger lengths worth, and it sits so well under my makeup, there is no pilling and my skin feels well protected! It contains 100% Korean black rice, rich in antioxidants, vitamin E for free-radical protection and skin moisturising Ceramide NP & Heartleaf Extract. Use my affiliated discount code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% extra off at YesStyle and read more about my K Beauty Faves here!

Lastly, I have to mention the Naked Sundays CabanaClear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50 $24.99 CAD | £25 | $22 USD*. This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup, I can’t fault it! Read more about Naked Sundays here!

Summer Essentials 2025 | Skin, Hair, Body and Makeup

Back with another post this week and this time it’s all about some standout products I’ve been using this summer!

summer essentials beauty 2025

Starting with haircare, and I don’t know about you, but my hair is feeling fried lately! Aside from being overdue a haircut, my ends are feeling drier with summer and the climate where I live is dry too. I was so excited to try the cult classic Coco & Eve Like a Virgin Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque RRP $56 CAD* recently and was blown away! It’s an intensively nourishing formula containing shea butter and argan oil to detangle hair and tame frizziness. I let this marinate in my hair for 5-10 minutes then wash out and style as normal. The result is manageable, soft, shiny and hydrated hair with no straw like ends! Usually, I don’t see a huge difference between normal conditioners and hair masks but with this one I can really see and feel the difference in my hair!

Another one from Coco & Eve, this time in the bodycare category and the Firming and Tan Prolonging Peptide Body Oil RRP $47 CAD* has been a gorgeous addition to my summer bodycare routine! I don’t go out of my way to tan but my arms and feet pick up some colour when I am out and about and this has been great at hydrating my skin and extending the longevity of my tan! It contains peptides, hyaluronic acid and inca inchi oil – a source of omega 3 and fatty acids. I love the formula too, it’s more of a dry oil so feels lightweight, isn’t greasy and dries down quickly! Just to note as well this one isn’t for use with fake tanning products containing DHA!

Sticking with body care and this has been the summer of Josie Maran for me! I have been using the Body Butter RRP $22 CAD* and Fragrance Mist in Topless Tangerine RRP $38 CAD* non-stop since I got them and while I love all the scents, Topless Tangerine is just so special! It’s perfect for summer and so fresh with the scent of pixie tangerines and pink grapefruit as well as brown sugar to keep it warm and smooth. The body butter is so hydrating and the formula is perfect, thick but sinks in easily! I took a sachet with me on my recent vacation when I was packing light and it was so easy to travel with and lasted a long time as you don’t need to use much and it spreads so easy! The fragrance mist also contains argan oil to lock in scent and these can be used interchangeably too if you want to layer different scents!

Moving onto skincare and the haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ RRP $20.72 CAD* has to get a mention! This comes in handy pump packaging and has a lovely non-greasy formula that doesn’t leave a white cast and I think it would work for all skin types! I use 2 finger lengths worth and it sits so well under my makeup, there is no pilling and my skin feels well protected! It contains 100% Korean black rice, rich in antioxidants, vitamin E for free-radical protection and skin moisturising Ceramide NP & Heartleaf Extract. Absolutely love it! Use my code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% extra off at YesStyle!

Another SPF that deserves a mention is the Naked Sundays Cabana Cabana Clear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50 RRP $22 USD*. This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and again, sits well under makeup! Can’t fault it!

Lips next and I am loving the Naked Sundays Poutscreen SPF50 Plumping Lip Treatment in Marshmallow RRP $26 USD*. I usually stick to nice but boring SPF lip balms like blistex during the summer so this one is a real treat! It’s a my lips but better subtle sheer pink glaze and is formulated with Polyglutamic Acid, Squalane and Tomato Extract for a boost of hydration, a subtle plumping effect and packed with antioxidants. It is lightweight, non-sticky, feels hydrating and long lasting and it protects my lips! Love it and really enjoy the scent too! Read my full Naked Sundays review here!

My other go to lip product has been the Lisa Eldridge Baume Embrace Melting Lip Colour in Epanoui RRP £43 CAD. This is a beautiful sheer, hydrating balm that contains jojoba oil and shea butter to moisturise and protect lips. It is described as a mauve pink but it definitely leans a little more coral on me which I love for summer! There is no scent which is unfortunate as I do love a scented lip product but it’s not a big deal and I would like a few other colours from this range!

Last but not least, I haven’t put down the Nudestix Nudies Matte Cream Blush Stick in Sunkissed Pink RRP $47.50 CAD* this summer! I had never tried the OG cream blush till now and I can see why it’s a cult favourite. This is a gorgeous, matte, cool pink shade that is easy to build, never looks patchy and lasts all day on me!

I’d love to know what your go to products this summer have been or if you have used any of the ones I’ve mentioned and what you thought of them! I have a similar summer standouts post from 2022 here and I still love all these products too!

Skincare and Makeup Review | Naked Sundays SPF

Vegan and cruelty free Aussie SPF brand Naked Sundays recently launched into Ulta, and to celebrate, they sent me some of their core products, so I thought I’d do a quick run through today!

naked sundays spf review

CabanaClear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50$22 USD | $24.99 CAD | £25*

This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup!

Hydrating Glow Mist Setting Spray SPF50+ $23 USD | $36.99 CAD | £18*

A welcome addition to my collection this summer as I am really trying to keep up with reapplication of SPF on my face and as a makeup wearer I find it hard to not disrupt my base! This is invisible and packed with Watermelon Extract and Kakadu Plum to hydrate and soothe. It’s so easy to throw in my bag and top up while out and about and I know this will be an essential for me this summer!

Poutscreen SPF50 Plumping Lip Treatment in Marshmallow $26 USD*

I usually stick to nice but boring SPF lip balms like blistex so this one is a real treat! It has a my lips but better subtle sheer pink glaze and is formulated with Polyglutamic Acid, Squalane and Tomato Extract for a boost of hydration, a subtle plumping effect and is packed with antioxidants. It’s lightweight, non-sticky, feels hydrating and long lasting and it protects my lips! Love it!

CabanaGlow SPF50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops in Illuminating $35 USD | £32*

This is a lightweight serum formula with skin-brightening illuminating pigments that feels hydrating and brightens and evens out my complexion. I have been mixing these into my foundation for a little extra glow and luminosity!

CabanaGlow SPF50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops in Bronze $35 USD | £32*

Same as above but in a sun kissed bronze shade! These are unfortunately a little too dark for me!

BeautyScreen SPF50 Peptide FoundationTint - 3 Warm Honey $38 USD | £38*

Sadly this shade is also a little dark for me so I have only tested it at home but it gives a really nice, buildable coverage and blends well to even out skin tone! It contains peptides, squalane and polyglutamic acid to plump skin, support the skin barrier and hydrate. I gave it to a friend to try and she said this: “I actually love the formula/finish/the way it fades during day, it doesn’t settle, doesn’t cling to bits etc but can’t shake the feeling it’s too warm for me…wish Shoppers sold that product but they don’t”. Would love to try this in a lighter shade!

Naked Sundays has a lot of makeup infused SPF so while I appreciate the added sun protection - make sure you have a good layer of SPF underneath if it is a makeup product!

They are also available at Shoppers Drugmart in Canada and Sephora, Boots and Cult Beauty in the UK!

Have you tried any Naked Sundays products? I want to try their lip oil and stick sunscreen next!
