Five Things I’m Loving | January 2026

ziip halo 2.0 review jones road miracle balm

It has been a long time since I’ve done a five things I’m loving post but after talking about my favourite beauty discoveries of the last year I couldn’t help but talk about some newer products that have impressed me recently as well as one old rediscovery!

First up, the ZIIP HALO 2.0 Nanocurrent™and Microcurrent Facial Toning Device RRP $539.99 CAD | $399.99 USD | £379.99*. I feel like I will do a full blog post on this later in the year once I have used for longer but I had to include it now as I’ve been so consistent this month! I can’t compare it to the original but I am impressed with the 2.0 version! It comes with 3 types of microcurrent gels and an app that you can sync your device to and choose which guided facial you want. Options include anything from a 12 minute “Everything Facial” to a 1 minute “Heal”. Most regularly I have been doing the 6 minute “Instant Face Lift”, 4 minute “Clear Skin” and 2 minute “Lips”. Routines use either Microcurrent, ZIIP Nanocurrent™ or both and works to re-energize skin cells, boost collagen, improve elasticity, and restore natural glow for visible results. My skin looks instantly lifted and plump when I do the Instant Face Lift and I can’t get over the difference in my lips after doing the lips treatment! They are so much more defined and plump! The clear skin treatment is one I’m paying a lot of attention to at the minute aswell - i've used it every other day this week and I am already seeing a marked reduction and healing in spots I get regularly on my jaw line! Very impressed so far and you can use my code DANIELLEBEAUTY for 10% off on thier website! Full in depth review to come!

The Jones Road Miracle Balm in Flushed RRP $49 CAD | £36 | $38 USD* has been my go to throughout the colder weather in January. Flushed is a cool pink shade with a subtle sheen and sheer to buildable coverage that works for all skin tones. The balm is light-reflecting and gives your skin a fresh, healthy glow. The texture is so interesting and unlike anything else I have in my collection. It doesn’t fully set and has a little bit of tack to it so it’s my go to on days that dip below -10°C in particular as I walk to work. For me, as well as looking good, it gives my cheeks a little extra protection as Alberta is so cold and dry! I don’t love the feel of Aquaphor on my cheeks if I’m going to be outside for too long so this works for me instead! It comes in a very weighty screw compact with a huge 50g of product and you need to “break the seal” of the balm on first use to warm up the product and release the pigment. I have been using this over my foundation with the Jones Road Everything Brush - a dense, wide and flat brush that gives controlled, even coverage. It’s very easy to build the pigment up and I have been super impressed with the wear time on this considering it doesn’t fully dry down. I haven’t noticed it fading or transferring throughout the day either and it gives a lovely sheen to my skin and doesn’t look greasy! It contains jojoba seed oil which is rich in fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals so this conditions, moisturises, and softens skin for a smooth complexion. It also contains Vitamin E known for its antioxidant properties. The brand actually sent me two of the same shade so I gave one to a friend I used to work with and she said this – “first impressions are I need this product in my life! Not what I expected and not as tacky as I thought either. The dew look doesn’t sink in or disappear, it’s very nice and I want to try more products. Have decanted it so I can carry one in my bag!” High praise indeed!

I went home for Christmas and neglected to bring an overnight lip product so went through my drawers (which still have some beauty products, it’s bad I know) and found a fresh Jouer Cosmetics Essential Lip Enhancer RRP $22 CAD | £13. I have used up a couple of these and loved them and this time is no different! I believe this is the Rose shade but it doesn’t say on the packaging and this is one of the most hydrating lip products I have tried! It feels ultra-rich but not heavy on the lips and contains vitamin E, shea butter, jojoba seed oil and Jouer signature Maxi-Lip complex - a natural peptide blend that diminishes fine lines and makes lips appear fuller! It squeezes out so easy and makes my lips feel amazing! I used it overnight as well as during the day and it keeps them hydrated all night long, while not being sticky and (more importantly for during the day) it gives a lovely shine! Now I am back in Canada, it’s protecting my lips against the cold and heating while I am indoors! I see it’a out of stock on Cult Beauty so I am a little worried now I have rediscovered it, it’s going to be discontinued! Get it if you can!

I recently added the U Beauty The RETURN Eye Concentrate RRP $202 CAD | $148 USD | £143* into my skincare routine and had to mention it here! It is described as a complete contouring treatment that targets visible signs of fatigue, stress, and aging around the eyes and is formulated with Diamond Powder, Marine Plankton Extract, Stabilized Superoxide Dismutase, Pure Beta Glucan, and Short-Chain Hyaluronic Acid. Every U Beauty product is also powered by SIREN Capsule Technology™ - an adaptive, multi-patent-pending delivery system that customizes treatment for transformative skin results. I’ve been using it for almost a month now and it is a beautiful formula, so hydrating but sinks in easily and doesn’t mess with my makeup. It’s helping improve the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles while smoothing and plumping by eye area! I have high hopes with continued use and rightly so at that price! My discount code DANIELLEBEAUTYBLOG20 gets 20% off your first purchase!

I got the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 Delicia Hair & Body Refillable Perfume Mist RRP $53 CAD | $39 USD | £38 for 240 mls along with a mini of the body butter in the same scent as part of my birthday present from SpaceNK and I can’t stop wearing it! Having worked in a scent free office for around 2.5 years, I have become so self-conscious when I wear scents now as I’m not used to it anymore but I changed jobs in July and have slowly been introducing scents back into my daily routine! This one is described as warm and spicy, uplifting and delicious - with notes of vanilla orchid, sugared violet, and sheer sandalwood. I’m a big fan of the original Cheirosa 62 but it can be quite overpowering at times and I find this one the opposite! I am useless as describing scents but this one is understated but still long-lasting and you should go to your nearest store to test it out immideiately!

Best Beauty Discoveries 2025 | Makeup

I’ve got my best beauty discoveries series coming up this month starting with makeup today! These are not necessarily new products released in 2025 but that just happened to be the year I discovered them and fell in love!

best makeup discoveries 2025

For base products, the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer in shade 04 Fair Neutral RRP $45.50 CAD | £27 has become my go to concealer! It’s a great colour match for me and works well under the eyes and on blemishes or dark spots. It contains niacinamide to brighten, arnica to reduce the look of redness and hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate. I love the packaging and the formula feels so hydrating and blends easily as well as offering good coverage!

I was sent the limited edition MERIT Archival Lip Essentials Gift Set in September and the Signature Lip Blush in Archival RRP $36 CAD* and Shade Slick Sheen in Archival RRP $33 CAD* have not left my lips since! The lip blush is a diffused soft matte in a cool mauve and the slick sheen is a sheer pearlescent lip oil in a cool mauve. The lip blush in particular is such a special formula! It feels lightweight, glides on so smoothly and doesn’t feel drying at all despite being a matte, the shade is beautiful and looks so natural but helps pull my makeup together! I haven’t worn a matte on my lips in forever but this is the perfect formula for me! Obsessed! I love adding the Slick Sheen over the top when I want my lips to look glossier and the combo gives me the perfect my lips but better shade! I hope they bring this shade to the permanent line!

makeup favourites 2025

Last year I managed to snag a $100 Rouge Reward so knew I had to pick up something luxurious! I decided on the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours 24H Hyper Sunkissed Glow Bronzer in Shade 2 Dune RRP $88 CAD | £48 and I’ve happily used it all year! I am obsessed with the packaging of this and the product inside isn’t bad either! It contains a little shimmer but to be honest I thought it was matte! The formula is smooth and blendable and leave my skin looking sunkissed and never orange or dirty!

The Tower 28 Beauty GetSet Blur + Set Matte Powder Blush in Long Beach Iced Tea RRP $32 CAD | £22 was my favourite blush I picked up last year and I definitely want to explore this brand a bit more! This is an earthy rosy pink shade with great colour payoff and buildable pigment. It helps smooth the look of texture and give my cheeks a healthy flush of long lasting colour! Need to get more shades!

Lastly, the Pixi Natural Brow Duo in Deep Brunette RRP $24 CAD | £15* has been a constant in my makeup bag for the last half of the year! I love the dual ended packaging and it’s so quick to use with the angled brow pencil which makes it easy to fill in any sparse sections of my brow then the gel to set them! The gel isn’t crispy and keeps my brows in place all day!

Best Beauty Discoveries 2022 | Haircare

Last up in my best beauty discoveries of 2022 is the haircare category and I have quite a few this year! I have long brown hair with dry end and oily roots, and I really try to protect my hair as best as possible as I use heat so here are the products that have stood out to me this year!

haircare favourites 2022

As a huge fan of the bum bum bodycare scent I had to pick up Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Milky Leave In Conditioner RRP £28 when it launched earlier this year! It smells exactly like the rest of the line but it’s not overpowering at all. I love the trigger mechanism and the formula itself is thicker than I was expecting but not heavy at all. It offers heat protection up to 232˚C, frizz control and helps prevent split ends and is a huge 210ml! It’s the best detangler I have used and makes my hair so soft and smooth! See my full review here!

I finally gave in and bought the Living Proof PhD Dry Shampoo RRP £20 and let me tell you, the hype is real. This is a lot pricier than my usual budget dry shampoos, but it is the best I have tried! It leaves no white cast, absorbs easily giving me an extra day or two out of my greasy hair and actually makes it look clean. Some dry shampoos only last a few hours before my hair starts looking greasy again and I need to reapply, but this works so well and I use far less product! As well as making my hair look clean again it also gives a bit of lift which is perfect as my hair can look lank when greasy and it has a really subtle fresh scent. There is no residue and I love this so much I just bought three sets from Sephora when it was on sale!

Sticking with Living Proof, and I received their Triple Bond Complex RRP £42* at the end of summer and famous last words, but I think I prefer it as a repair treatment to Olaplex! This is a weekly treatment that you apply to damp hair after washing and leave in - it works to construct new bonds within the hair to help strengthen it as well as protect it and the look of split ends are visibly reduced. It also offers heat protection up to 232˚C to help prevent future breakage. It’s a silicone-free, serum consistency and leaves my hair feeling protected, smooth and manageable with a good shine and I have noticed my ends looking way healthier with less split ends even when my hair is overdue a trim!

I am a sucker for a scalp scrub and the Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal and Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo RRP $54* has really impressed me! As I was rubbing this into my scalp the first time I used it, I was convinced my hair was still going to be greasy and that it was not going to clean it as there is no lather (it’s sulphate free) but I couldn’t have been more wrong! The exfoliant is very fine and this made my hair look and feel the cleanest it’s ever been! My scalp, while still being oily has also been flaking on me this winter and this shampoo really refreshes and balances it without drying it out while getting rid of flakes! As well as charcoal and coconut oil, this contains peppermint, spearmint and tea tree oil to help reduce itchiness and it gives it a really light minty scent!

I love a good hair mask and the Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense Thick Hair Mask RRP £36.60* might be one of the best I have tried! It smells incredible and as it’s for thick hair it’s super concentrated so a little goes a long way in my fine hair! I like to leave it on 15-20 minutes before rinsing out and it leaves my hair soft, smooth, shiny and the ends well hydrated which makes them look so much healthier! Despite my hair not being thick, it rinses out well and doesn’t leave it feeling weighed down. It’s a huge 200ml too and is lasting me ages despite using it regularly! See my full Kerastase Nutritive range review here!

Lastly, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum RRP $15.80 has really helped the condition of my lashes and brows! Since using this, I have noticed way less fall out in both areas and they are both looking much fuller! I’ve never tried a lash/brow serum before this aside from castor oil and I don’t see myself trying any others as this is so affordable and works! You do need to be in a good routine using it every day to see results but much like the hair density serum I included in last year’s haircare discoveries this is another win for The Ordinary!

Best Beauty Discoveries 2022 | Makeup

best makeup products 2022

After last week’s best skincare discoveries of 2022, this week it’s the turn of my favourite makeup discoveries! Some of these I bought towards the end of 2021 but as always, it takes me so long to actually use them, it was 2022 before they came into their own! It’s always risky buying without having seen or swatched the product in person but I did my research and also got lucky as everything I’m talking about today, I bought this way!

Starting with bronzers and the Victoria Beckham Matte Bronzing Brick in 02 Soleil | Honey RRP £52 has easily made its way to the top of my favourite bronzer list. This is a weighty compact with a matte duo inside and it has the perfect amount of pigmentation. I mix the two together and it blends like a dream, instantly adds a natural warmth to my face without any patchiness and it lasts all day with no fading. The only thing that annoys me about it is the packaging which has a tendency to pop open, and it can be quite difficult to close but I’ll forgive it because it has such a beautiful formula!

victoria beckham dior bronzer

Sticking with bronzers and a very close second is the Dior Forever Natural Bronze in 04 Tan Bronze RRP £41. Like the VB, this has just the right amount of pigmentation and isn’t powdery at all. The packaging is lighter than the VB so easier to travel with and I would say I prefer the shade of the VB just a touch as I can customise it but I reach for this so much too!

Onto foundation now, and the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation in Gobi RRP £37.50 was a standout for me this year! It has a thin consistency but offers medium coverage, feels lightweight on the skin and is easily buildable, and leaves a very perfecting base. The formula is a mix of makeup and skincare and supposedly helps improve skins clarity and texture over time and I have been impressed with how long this wears on my skin! I haven’t found it to separate, and it’s been lasting a full day on my normal/combo skin! My skin looks more luminous when I use this, it covers minor imperfections well and gives me a healthy glow! Definitely my favourite NARS foundation out of the three I have tried! See my full review here!

Lip products next and I have a few to share! The first being the Dior Addict Lip Glow in 012 Rosewood RRP £30 and it was definitely a case of Instagram made me buy it but I’m glad I did! Tinted lip balms are my jam and this is definitely the fanciest one I own! Aside from beautiful packaging, the product inside is a lovely "my lips but better" sheer rosy nude shade. It's infused with colour-reviver technology that adapts to the pH level of lips to reveal a custom glow which was why I specifically didn’t go with the original pink shade as pH lip products tend to go bright pink on me! Rosewood is perfect though and the formula is beautiful, it lasts on my lips for a good few hours before I feel the need to reapply!

clarins lip oil honey review

clarins lip comfort oil honey review

The Clarins Lip Comfort Oil in 01 Honey RRP £21.50 has featured on the blog before in mini form, but I loved it so much I had to get a full size! It feels silky and not sticky at all while lasting a surprisingly long time on my lips keeping them comfortable and hydrated for hours. It gives a beautiful shine, contains omega 6 and 9, rose oil and jojoba oil and comes in a bunch of shades and I just got the Christmas mini 4 pack to try some more shades too!

hourglass phantom volumizing glossy balm review slip

Lastly, in the lip category I have the Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm in Slip RRP £28. Not my favourite packaging mechanism (you can’t wind the product back down) but the product itself is beautiful! These are super glossy but not sticky and the colour is buildable. Again, they last quite a while on my lips and while I don’t find the plumping/volumizing aspect too much, they do make my lips look fuller! Would definitely consider picking up a few more shades if I saw these on offer again!

pat mcgrath divine rose blush review

I purchased a few blushes this year but way out in front is the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish: Divine Blush in Divine Rose RRP £30. This is described as a cool mauve rose demi matte and I honestly think this might be my favourite blush in my collection. As well as having the most beautiful imprint, I love the shade (I tend to prefer matte products), the pigmentation is perfect, it’s easily blendable, looks so natural and it has great lasting powder. I also have the shade Nymphette which I like but I love this one! Really want to try the blush duos too!

Finally, the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Blurring Under Eye Powder in Light RRP £25 has really impressed me. This is so lightweight yet it sets my under eye so it never looks powdery or dry. It’s so finely milled and blurring and barely detectable!

And that’s my 2022 best makeup discoveries! I bought everything here when it was on sale or the website had a good offer running as I hate paying full price! These are all pricey items so definitely shop around or wait until you see a good deal if you are planning a splurge and want to save some money! Do you see any of your favoruites? Let me know what makeup products stood out to you this year!
