Best Beauty Discoveries 2025 | Skincare

best skincare discoveries 2025

Last week was makeup and now it’s the turn of the skincare I discovered in 2025!

currentbody skin LED red light therapy face mask series 2 review

I’m going to start with the CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 RRP £399.99 | $639.99 CAD | $469.99 USD which I bought myself right at the end of 2024! I was so consistent with this mask throughout 2025 and use it on average 5 nights a week and I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it! I have a whole post on it here with more information but in short, my skin is more even, calmer and much less inflamed. Darker pigmentation spots take less time to fade, active spots aren’t active for as long, my skin looks and feels smoother and firmer and fine lines aren’t pronounced or getting deeper. My complexion is brighter and clearer and just better than when I wasn’t using it! It is most definitely an investment but well worth the money! It is a nightly ritual for me, and my skin is reaping the benefits! I have an affiliated discount code - DANIELLEBB - which gives a 10% discount year round and for a few weeks around Black Friday this increases to 20% off!

I found it so tough to pick just one cleanser, but I didn’t want this post to have 20 products in it! The Farmacy Green Clean Gentle Creamy Cleanser RRP $44 CAD | £31* was one I finished first from a few Farmacy cleanser faves I received this year (read more here) and this one is great for drier and more sensitive skins! It’s fragrance free and contains moringa as well as oats and Vitamin F to sooth and nourish the skin. It feels creamy and hydrating and I reached for it especially when my skin was feeling in any way sensitised but its just such a lovely second or morning cleanse no matter what your skin type is!

I became obsessed with the Farmacy Brighten Up 3% TXA Dark Spot Toner RRP $52 CAD | £31* last year! It might just be my favouite of Farmacy’s three toner offerings, but it was Hard decision! It claims to reduce the look of dark spots in just 7 days and I would have to agree! It contains 3% tranexamic acid to work on aforementioned dark spots and to brighten as well as 5% PHA and azelaic acid to even skin tone and gently exfoliate. This has worked so well to brighten my skin and help lighten some stubborn dark spots I get after breakouts! It’s gentle and I love using it in both my AM and PM routines!

The Glow Recipe Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner RRP $52 CAD via IPSY | £34* pleasantly surprised me last year, probably because I have been underwhelmed by most other Glow Recipe products I have tried! This formula is cooling, brightening and hydrating and it didn’t smell overpowering like their watermelon line. It contains Cloudberry which is packed with Vitamins C and E and Coenzyme Q10 which is antioxidant and strengthens skin. The bottle is only 75mls so I went through it quite quickly and it was hard to get the last quarter out as it’s a jelly-like consistency and comes in pump packaging and I just repurchased as Sephora had 50% off last week! Read more about it and the Farmacy toner here!

My retinal product of the year was the Sachi Skin Ursolic and Acid and Retinal Overnight Reform RRP $129 CAD | £78*. This is a 0.05% stabilised retinaldehyde and also contains 12 antioxidants and Ayurvedic botanicals, including Encapsulated Glutathione, Superoxide Dismutase (also found in one of my favourite facial mists from NIOD!), Niacinamide, Bakuchiol, Rosehip, and Carrot Root Extract. It also features Liposomal Ursolic Acid and Tripeptide and these all work together to brighten, protect, support collagen, firmness, and skin renewal. I used this 1-2 times per week and noticed a real difference in my skin - it felt smoother, I had less congestion on my chin and jawline, and my fine lines looked softer and less obvious. It also helped fade residual dark spots and my skin felt more plump and even-toned, and I looked fresher in the morning! I love how gentle but effective this is – it is recommended to layer it under or over moisturiser but I personally didn’t have to buffer it as it didn’t cause any irritation or flakiness (I am used to 0.05-0.06% retinals though!). I also love the airless pump packaging – it feels sleek, hygienic, and makes it easy to get the right amount of product each time! I got around 5 months use (using 1-2 times a week) so feel it’s reasonably priced for such an effective product!

Rounding up my best skincare discoveries of last year with a couple of SPF’s now and the haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ RRP $23.02 CAD* became one of my favourite SPF’s this summer and I love the pump packaging it comes in! It’s a lightweight, non-greasy formula that doesn’t leave a white cast and I think it would work for all skin types! I use 2 finger lengths worth, and it sits so well under my makeup, there is no pilling and my skin feels well protected! It contains 100% Korean black rice, rich in antioxidants, vitamin E for free-radical protection and skin moisturising Ceramide NP & Heartleaf Extract. Use my affiliated discount code DANIELLESBB5 for up to 5% extra off at YesStyle and read more about my K Beauty Faves here!

Lastly, I have to mention the Naked Sundays CabanaClear Invisible Water Gel Serum SPF50 $24.99 CAD | £25 | $22 USD*. This is a lovely lightweight, quick absorbing and hydrating SPF! It’s silicone free and full of antioxidants like Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to protect and fight aging as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin. It comes out like a creamy serum but rubs in clear with no white cast and sits well under makeup, I can’t fault it! Read more about Naked Sundays here!

I would love to know your thoughts on any of these products if you have tried them! Check out my previous years posts below!

Skincare | CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 Review and Discount Code!

currentbody skin LED red light therapy face mask series 2 review

Considering Black Friday is coming up soon, I thought it was about time I gave my two cents on the CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2! Use my discount code DANIELLEBB for 10% off at CurrentBody all year round! RRP £399.99 | $639.99 CAD | $469.99 USD

The reason I mention Black Friday, is because that’s when I bought my mask last year as they had 20% off with the discount code! I had gone back and forth over getting one of these masks since 2021 but could never quite justify the price (and it was the older Series 1 version at that time). But last November, as another birthday rolled around, I felt the urge to treat myself when I saw the Series 2 mask released and the discount go to 20% on Black Friday. Last year it was £399 and I got mine for £319.20 with the 20% off!

currentbody series 2 led light face mask review

The Technical Bit (from the website)

The Series 2 mask contains 236 LEDs which emit the 3 most clinically recognised wavelengths for anti-ageing, penetrating up to 10mm into the skin:

-Red light (633nm): Boosts collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles

-Near-infrared (830nm): Energises cells to firm, tighten and brighten skin

-Deep near-infrared (1072nm): Targets areas where signs of ageing are more pronounced, boosting collagen production deep under the skin.

What it Claims

Results can be seen in as little as 4 weeks when used regularly for 10 minutes a day, 3 to 5 times a week. See less lines and wrinkles and firmer, brighter and smoother skin. The LED face mask has been designed for all skin types, even the most sensitive.

What I’ve Noticed

I’ve been using this for just under a year now and overall, with consistent use, my skin is more even, calmer and much less inflamed. Darker pigmentation spots take less time to fade, active spots aren’t active for as long, my skin looks and feels smoother and firmer and fine lines aren’t pronounced or getting deeper. My complexion is brighter and clearer and just better than when I wasn’t using it! It boosts collagen production too under the skin and I feel my skin is plumper.

I love how it covers my jawline aswell (one of the upgrades from Series 1) as I get congestion and spots here and I feel this really helps keep them under control. Obviously, I have a good skincare routine as well so can’t attribute all this to just the mask, but it really has elevated my skincare routine no end! It is recommended to use the LED mask 3 to 5 times a week but I use it probably closer to 6-7 nights a week as it’s so easy to incorporate into my routine – use straight after cleansing and before serums etc.

I took 2 weeks off using it this summer as I was travelling and knew I wouldn’t have time to use it and felt my skin really just lacked a little somethin’ somethin’! I couldn’t wait to get it back on when I got home and just get the overall radiance back to my skin. In saying that, the mask is also easy to travel with, its pliable and comes with a protective bag!

currentbody LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2

The mask itself fits very well and the multiway strap is comfortable – you can clip the control onto your clothes if you want to use it on the go but I prefer to take 10 minutes to lie down and I’ll usually do Wordle and Connections (lol). It has optional eye inserts which I do use, and I don’t have any sensitivity to the red light with my eyes. To clean you just need to wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry. The charge usually lasts me around 10 uses (there is only one button on the control and you need to hold it in for a few seconds to turn it on) and a full charge takes a couple of hours! It will flash orange when it’s time to charge and has a steady blue colour blue when it’s got charge. The device is 100% painless and the LEDs don’t generate any heat.

In case you can’t tell, I love the CurrentBody Skin LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 | RRP £399.99 | $639.99 CAD | $469.99 USD and think it is an investment but well worth the money! It has become a nightly ritual for me, and my skin is reaping the benefits! I’ve been strict with my consistency, and it’s paid off with a calmer and less inflamed complexion, a more even and brighter skin tone and my fine lines are subtle and less pronounced. My code DANIELLEBB gives a 10% discount year round and for a few weeks round Black Friday they do 20% off!

Have you tried this LED mask or any others before? I just saw CurrentBody released an LED Light Therapy panel recently and they also have other targeted devices like the LED neck and decolletage mask, LED eye mask and the LED hair growth helmet that I would love to try in the future! My discount DANIELLEBB works on those too!
