Forever Repurchased #4

soap and glory clean girls nivea soft lush magic wand nivea soft review

This year I’m making it my mission not to purchase things I don’t need and so far, so good (doubt it will last for too long!) but here are a few recent repurchases that I picked up round Christmas that I just can’t be without!

My favourite nail polish and this is probably the 4th or 5th time I have repurchased because it’s the only nail polish I ever get to the end of! This is the only clear coat I use on my fingernails now as it’s just so good! It gives the most amazing shine to my nails and makes them feel so much stronger and longer. It’s recommended to do two coats then add another coat every other day and I will usually do the two coats then forget about topping up the rest of the week but there is no flaking or chipping with this anyway! Full price it’s expensive so I buy mine on eBay from a reputable seller but if you have weak/brittle nails or just like a high shine you need to try this!

soap and glory clean girls review

Soap and Glory Clean, Girls body wash
I am completely obsessed with the Mist You Madly scent that Soap and Glory do so even though I have about four bottles of back up shower gels, including other scents from Soap and Glory, I need a bottle of this at all times! I love to layer this up with the body spray and find the musky scent lasts on me all day! The shower gel itself feels super moisturising and looks almost pearlescent when I rub it in and it lathers up nicely! At £6.50 for 500ml, it’s a bargain too!

This is another product I like to have to hand even though I’m never short on moisturisers at home either! I was in Savers just before Christmas and they always have a basket of these near the till so I always end up picking one up! I can’t remember how much this was but I don’t think it was anymore that £2.99 so again another bargain and a moisturiser that I find so lightweight and fresh. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft!

Lush Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar
I’m cheating slightly with this one because it was actually my mum who repurchased it for me and even though it’s a limited edition Christmas product I couldn’t help but mention it as I love it so much! On the whole, I think Lush is seriously overpriced and I would never go in and buy a bath bomb, however I love their Christmas sets and think they are far better value! This was in the set my mum got me for Christmas and I’ve had this bubble bar before and loved it! It’s scented of Snow Fairy which I love and gives me a pastel pink bubble bath that leaves my skin silky soft – what more could you want! I just run this under the tap for about 10-15 seconds and then leave it sitting in a soap dish to dry out until my next bath! The glitter washes off after the first dunk and when I had it last year it did me for so many baths so I think this is well worth the money! I’d definitely try out the pink flamingo one Lush do all year round if you think you’d like something like this!

Thinking Pink

#glossierpink the balm too faced soap and glory barry m opi nails inc essie benefit lush

Hi guys! I have a bit of a themed post today! Taking inspiration from the Pantone Colour of the year (Rose Quartz) and Glossier beauty products pink branding, I have a few of my favourite pink beauty products to share with you and the #glossierpink Pinterest board!

too faced chocolate bon bons palette

I lusted after this palette so much! I do like it but not as much as I thought I would unfortunately but everything about it is so cute from the packaging to the heart shaped pans inside! I got the Melted Lipstick in a set at Christmas and I’m in love with the formula! So long lasting, not sticky and it’s the perfect shade of pink!

#glossierpink the balm down boy blush benefit posie balm too faced melted peony

This is one of my absolute favourite blushes and the one 9 times out of 10 I will take with me when I’m travelling somewhere and don’t have much room for makeup. Its matte, pigmented and long lasting and makes me look healthy and just the right amount of flushed!

I got this mini in a duty free haul here and it’s come in so handy! It gives a really light wash of colour on the lips but feels so hydrating and what’s not to love about minis!

Lush Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
This is a limited edition Christmas bubble bar that like my beloved Snow Fairy, I savour before using up! It smells sweet like vanilla candy, gives the best bubbles and makes my skin feel so soft when I get out of the bath! I usually split it in two because when it’s gone it’s gone!

Ah how could I not include Soap and Glory in a post about pink! Their products are some of my favourites and you are all probably sick of me bleating on about them! Mist you Madly is probably my favourite scent ever, it’s so musky and long lasting and the bottle is perfect for throwing in your handbag! I also love the Original Pink perfume which is a lot lighter but just as long lasting and has such a pretty bottle! Finally another two handbag essentials for me are the Hand Maid hand sanitizer and Hand Food hand cream! I love popping these out to freshen up and moisturise whenever I want!

This was a welcome addition in a gift with purchase from Cult Beauty as I had wanted to try Aurelia skincare for ages! It’s a cream texture and I love the smell of eucalyptus when I’m massaging it into my face! I then remove it with the muslin cloth that came with it and it does a great job of getting rid of my makeup and making me skin feel super soft!

Finally, I have a few slightly different shades of pink nail polish! First up is the most pink, Nails Inc Gel Effect in Chiltern Street. Then we have the most affordable, Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Rose Hip. Next we have my favourite formula; OPI Nail Envy in Bubble Bath and finally my favourite shade, Essie Fiji. All look amazing with a tan and I have a feeling these will be on rotation from now till September!

A Nail Polish Obsession #1

OPI My Very First Knockwurst nail polish

Now I’m usually all about the dark vampy reds, purples and navy’s this time of year but this OPI polish has caught my attention and I cannot get enough! This stuff has not left my nails for longer than two days since I got it a month ago and I can’t see that changing anytime soon!

If you have read my Manicure Essentials post you will know that I usually forego coloured nail polish on my fingernails and save it for my toenails. This is because I cannot stand chipped nail polish or more likely, my obsession with then picking the rest of the polish off! This stuff however is on a whole other level and the little nail combination I have been using has ensured this is the longest lasting manicure I’ve ever had, lasting a good four days before chipping which is a lifetime for me!

OPI My Very First Knockwurst manicure Nail Ency Seche Vite

As usual, I apply my OPI Nail Envy as a base coat, this is the most amazing nail polish ever and I often wear this on its own because it gives the most amazing shine to my nails and really strengthens them. Nail Envy was actually the only OPI nail polish I had tried prior to getting this one but I have a feeling this will change as I love the formulation of the two I have so much!

I first saw OPI My Very First Knockwurst on my friend at works nails about a month ago and had to know what it was! She couldn’t remember and wrote it down for me that evening and I had it ordered before break time at work the next day! It is the most perfect nude-y, pinky, pastely, chic, sophisticated shade of nail polish I have ever owned and I am obsessed with it! I mentioned that I have been so impressed with the wear time which could be down to the top coat I've been using (I haven’t tried it without).

OPI My Very First Knockwurst manicure swatch

Now I know Seche Vite hasn’t got the best ingredients in it but boy does it dry fast! Gone is the endless flapping of my hands to try and dry my nails quicker only to hit something by accident and smudge my whole nail anyway! Overall, this has become my nail dream team and I can’t stop wearing it!

What nail colours have you been loving recently? Do you like this one or is it too nude for you?

Product Empties #2

danielle's beauty blog empties 2 skincare hair nail makeup bodycare

Ok, slightly ridiculous amount of empties here yet again, it never looks that much until I go to write the post about it!

Hair Products
hair reviews batiste garnier ultimate blends honey treasures shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Ah, good old Batiste where would I be without you! Perfect when you can’t be bothered washing your hair, I always have a bottle of this and a backup! It does leave a bit of a white cast if you don’t rub it in properly but for the price it is a constant repurchase!

Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer Honey Treasures Shampoo
I did a full review of the Garnier Ultimate Blends range here and while I liked this shampoo it’s not my favourite and I prefer the other products in the range therefore I won’t be repurchasing!

Perfume, Nails and Makeup
product review sopa and glory eau de toilette opi nail envy kick ass concealer revlon powder

Soap and Glory Eau de Toilette
I’ve had this bottle for absolutely ages! The Mist you Madly scent from Soap and Glory which this perfume is based on is my absolute favourite smell. Seriously, if you’ve never smelt it before, do the next time you have a chance! Anyway, I much prefer the actual body spray to this and find it lasts all day on my skin. This perfume is slightly stronger and as I have both the Mist you Madly body spray and fragrance mist which are cheaper for more product I wouldn’t buy the perfume again!

Opi Nail Envy
I recently talked about this in my manicure post here so I won’t bore you anymore but I love this stuff, it makes my nails so shiny and I have since repurchased this! There is a tiny bit left in the bottle but I hate trying to tip the bottle to get the product to one of the sides to get it out and find it doesn’t give as even an application so to the bin it goes!

Kick Ass Concealer in Light
This is my favourite ever concealer and I have a post coming up on this soon! It has two shades to suit undereyes and blemishes plus a mini setting powder and mirror so perfect to keep in your handbag! Already repurchased!

Revlon PhotoReady Powder in Fair
I talked about trying to get this finished up months ago in this post and I have finally succeeded! I used to love this powder but it’s just not working with my skin anymore so I won’t be repurchasing!

Skincare
skincare review vichy serum garnier express avene creamcarmex burts bees nuxe caudalie

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum
I absolutely love this serum, this is my second bottle of it! It is very cooling on the skin, hydrating, quite runny and the bottle lasts ages. I always get it on offer with at least 1/3 off the price so it works out quite reasonably! I haven’t repurchased this just yet because sometimes when my skin gets used to a specific product I find it stops working so if you have any recommendations for another hydrating serum please leave me a comment as I want to give this one a break!

Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up remover
I use waterproof mascara daily and this oil based eye makeup remover is the best I’ve ever tried! It is so gentle on my eyes and removes mascara and other eye makeup so easily! Already repurchased and using!

Avene Rich Skin Recovery Cream
This is my second tube of this and I love this moisturising cream when my face feels like it needs a little TLC and I just want to use something simple that does what it says! It’s so gentle and dries in quickly! I haven’t repurchased but I will when I get a few other products used up!

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Pink Sheer tint
I am a massive lip balm user (as you will see from the next products too!) and because my lips dry out so easily I like to add a bit of a tint to them to stop them looking the same colour as my face! This is so moisturising and lasts quite a long time on me meaning it is a constant repurchase! I usually swap between the pink and the peach one!

Burts Bees Original Mint Lipbalm and Pomegranate version
Possibly my favourite lip balm of all time, I love the minty smell of the original and usually have one in my handbag, one on my bedside table and one downstairs at all times and I was quite impressed with myself I finished these two at roughly the same time! Don’t worry though I also had several backups to replace them with!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet
Got this in the Caudalie set I mentioned in this haul and I really liked the formulation and cooling effect it had on my skin and it dried in very quickly too. Probably wouldn’t repurchase as I don’t feel I saw much of a difference!

Vichy Idealia Life Serum
Again, nice serum but I definitely prefer the Vichy Aqualia Thermal over this and the sample size was so small I couldn’t see any difference to my skin. This was creamier than and not as runny as the Aqualia Thermal and I also think it’s a lot more expensive. Wouldn’t repurchase!

Nuxe Crème Fraiche
I really like this cream; it feels luxurious and is a nice treat at night time for some extra moisture! I use it a bit like I would the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask and already have another one of these, I think I got them in two separate beauty boxes so I’m sorted for now!

Bodycare
bodycare reviews soap and glory nivea lush

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream
Like lip balm, hand cream is another product I cannot live without. The hand cream featured in this post is the one that sits by my bed while this one was in my handbag. I have repurchased this so many times I have lost count; it smells amazing, dries in so quickly and makes my hands so soft. I love it! I will repurchase this forever!

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter moisturiser
This is one of my favourite body moisturisers scented with my second favourite Soap and Glory scent, Original Pink! It is so thick and creamy yet dries in quickly, moisturises really well and leaves a lovely smell on my skin! Already using a backup!

Soap and Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel
This is the shower gel that matches the scent of the Righteous Butter and I love using these together to get a really long lasting scent! I love the Soap and Glory shower gels, they are such good value for money, the pump is so handy, they lather up really well, don’t feel like they strip the skin and smell amazing! Forever repurchasing this!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
As this is limited edition I like to make it last! I love the smell of this so much it’s so sweet and I look forward to getting a bottle every Christmas :)

Apologies again for the ridiculous length of this post, I will not let my next empties stash get that out of hand! Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? What did you think of them? See my last empties post here!

My Manicure Essentials

danielle's beauty blog manicure essentials

Giving myself a manicure is a weekly must for me, I like my nails to look neat and clean and most of all – shiny!! I’m not a massive wearer of coloured nail polish on my fingernails (toe nails are a different story – I have to have them painted!) but I always have a clear coat of nail polish on. Here are the steps I take when I’m giving myself a manicure at home!

I usually do this after a shower or bath because your nails are softest after being in the water! I’ll take a few cotton tail cotton pads to remove my nail polish along with Cutex Ultra Cleansing Nail polish remover which I have went through countless bottles of because it my favourite! I then take my Leighton Denny Glass Nail File and file my nails, making sure to only file in one direction so as not to cause breakages! I love glass nails files so much, they make the edge of the nail so smooth and file so quickly! They are a bit dearer than standard files or emery boards but so worth it!

I then use Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover and put a small amount around each cuticle, leave for 15 seconds then push the cuticles back with my new Leighton Denny Hoof Stick, I was using wooden orange sticks before this but I far prefer the Leighton Denny one! After rinsing this off, I then take my favourite clear coat which is OPI Nail Envy. This stuff makes my nails so shiny and doesn’t flake or peel off like other clear polishes I’ve tried in the past. I couldn’t be without this stuff now, I usually buy mine from Ebay as its much cheaper, just make sure you get a genuine one from a top rated seller!

OPI nail envy on nails

If I’m in a rush I sometimes use either Avon Nail Experts Liquid Freeze or Bourjois Instant Dry Nail Enamel Dryer to quickly dry my nails or if I’m in an even bigger rush I run them under the cold water tap as this sets the nail polish and stops them from smudging! Last but not least, to keep my hands feeling as good as my nails look I use a hand cream. I’m currently using the Soap and Glory Super Cream Hand Cream. This smells amazing, moisturises really well and dries in quickly so you can get back to what you were doing :)

What are your manicure essentials?
