Makeup Review | MERIT Beauty The Eye Set

merit beauty eye set review

MERIT contacted me a couple of months ago to ask if I’d like to try their eye set and after hearing such good things about their line it was a no brainer! To give a short introduction, MERIT is a clean, vegan, cruelty free and luxury beauty brand inspired by minimalism. They were founded by Katherine Power (also the founder of Versed) in 2021 and are based out of Los Angeles, California with the products being made in the U.S., South Korea, China and Italy. I received The Eye Set* which includes everything in this post and retails for $129 CAD | £102 | £94 USD. You also get the signature bag with your first order!

merit eye set review

The Eye Set includes the Solo Shadow in Vachetta ($33 CAD | £26 | £24 USD individually). This is a single, cream to powder eye shadow with a matte formula in a beautiful neutral shade with Vachetta being described as a warm beige. The formula can be applied either with your finger or a brush and the Brush No.2 ($27 CAD | £22 | $20 USD individually) is the perfect size, soft (vegan bristles) and dual ended so great for applying all over the lid or lash lining. The shadow itself is buildable so you can blend it out more to have a subtle hint of colour or add more drama if you layer it. It’s nicely pigmented and very easy to blend and hasn’t caused me any irritation and is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers! I will say though that I have very oily lids so there is not much colour left on mine by the end of the day whether I use a primer or not. In its defence, it fades very evenly but it’s not quite as longwearing as I was hoping for or expecting!

Moving to brows next and the Brow 1980 Volumizing Pomade ($33 CAD | £26 | $24 USD individually) has fit into my brow routine very nicely. I find when I keep on top of dying my brows I don’t need to pay so much time in the morning ‘doing them’ so this has been perfect to quickly brush through to fill any sparce gaps and give some volume and hold! I have the shade brown and it leaves my brows looking natural yet groomed and the formula isn’t flaky or crispy. There is only 2.4g of product though so this one definitely feels pricier than the other products based on that!

Lastly, and in my opinion the star of the show – the Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara ($36 CAD | £28 | $26 USD individually). This is a tubing mascara and oh my god have I been missing out. I have watery eyes and usually go for waterproof mascaras which still usually smudge halfway through the day. Not with this! The bristles make it easy to coat my lashes and it works well to lengthen. There are no clumps or flakes and definitely no smudging as the day goes on! Although this doesn’t give as much volume as some mascaras, I am a convert! I took this on my recent holiday to Mexico too and like I said, I am so impressed by the zero smudging or flaking! I still use my usual Nivea bi-phase eye makeup remover with this which works great!

Let’s also take a minute to talk about the packaging – I am in love! It feels weighty and so luxurious, I love the black and gold! The Solo Shadow also has a very satisfying extra click to it to make sure you have screwed it closed tightly enough. These are on the pricier side and I was hoping for a little more lasting power with the Solo Shadow but there is no doubt these are beautiful products and I will definitely be taking a look at their blush and lip oil next!

Five Things I’m Loving | November 2016

five things im loving smashbox bed head revlon vichy nars

I can’t believe I haven’t done one of these posts since March! This is the reason I could never commit to a monthly favourites! Anyway, there are a mix of products here, some are new to me within the last month and others are on their last legs and I love them so much I thought they deserved to feature in a post other than an empties!

I picked this up ages ago (definitely longer than I care to remember!) but it seems the longer its open the more I like it! I know mascara is a very personal choice but I’ve found this does exactly what it says and gives me both length and volume as well as separation and definition! I love that it has bristles instead of a plastic wand and it is impossible to get clumpy lashes with this! I've tried so many time to get close ups of my lashes but its impossible – if you have any tips please leave them in the comments!

Vichy Quenching Mineral Mask review

Vichy recently came out with three new face masks and I was sent the Quenching Mineral mask which could not have come at a better time for my skin! Every year I have the same problem where my usually oily skin goes haywire with the change in weather and becomes dehydrated and patchy in places. This mask feels amazingly cooling and refreshing and has been helping to regulate my skin! It contains thermal water from the French volcanoes, vitamin B3 and glycerin which all work to soothe and hydrate my skin leaving it feeling plumper and smoother!

Vichy Quenching Mineral Mask review moisturiser

The mask itself has a non-greasy, lightweight gel texture that sinks in quickly. It’s scented of green tea, jasmine water and bamboo and smells amazing! I know some people are sensitive to scented products but I personally don’t mind! The mask is also allergy tested and paraben free. I've been keeping this on my bathroom windowsill to keep it as cool as possible and it is a real treat to apply! I use it over the top of my trusty Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum and the two are a dreamy combination! The Vichy Quenching Mineral Masque is available from Boots, Escentual and Feel Unique!

Smashbox Photo Matte Eyes eyeshadow palette review

Another all matte eyeshadow palette, I know! But it’s another palette I love and after giving all the attention to the Kat Von D Shade + Light and Urban Decay Ultimate Basics I thought it was time to talk about this one! I adore the shade range in this and there isn’t a shade I wouldn’t use – even those couple of pinker shades! It has a great range of cool tones as well as a few warm and the shades can be used wet or dry and as shadows, liners or brow products. The brush that came with it is probably one of the better brushes I've received with a palette!

Clockwise top l-r: Desert, Heirloom, Dune, Vanilla (large pan), Canyon, Suede, Earthy

smashbox Photo Matte Eyes eyeshadow palette review swatch
Clockwise top l-r: Wheat (large pan), Grounded, Rosehip, Haze, Blackout, Ditch, Jolt

I would say that this palette isn’t just as pigmented as the Kat Von D or Makeup Geek shadows I’ve tried but it’s of the highest quality, the shadows don’t fade and they last all day on my oily lids with a primer. Smashbox do mattes really well, they are never patchy and there are no disappointing shades in this palette! I ordered directly from the Smashbox website and they always have discount codes available! I can’t get enough of Smashbox at the minute and have a lipstick set on my Christmas list!

Another oldie but a goody and this has actually featured in a post before! I always come back to this when my hair starts looking a little straggly and I'm trying to hold off going to the hairdressers. It makes the ends of my hair look so much thicker and healthier and helps seal my split ends until I wash my hair again. It also acts as a thermal protectant and just generally makes my hair easier to blow dry and straighten! I’m not normally a fan of fruity scents but I love this and even though it’s a cream it doesn’t add oil or weight to my fine hair!

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita review

This is one of the newest lipsticks in my collection and one I can’t believe took me so long to get! The Audacious line is very hyped within the beauty blogging world and now I can see why! This lipstick is so creamy and opaque with great lasting power! I struggled to pick a shade but eventually went with Anita which is a rosy pink and I definitely don’t think this will be my last! It also has quite possibly the most satisfying magnetic lipstick closure!

Don’t be Blue

blue beauty products nivea cutex estee lauder vichy la roche posay embryolisse essie revlon

Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone! After last week’s pink post I may have gotten a little carried away and planned a few more themed posts focusing on some different colours! First up are my favourite blue products!

I’ve spoken about this loads on my blog before and it regularly features in empties too but this is my favourite product for a first cleanse and I have been using it for years! It’s so creamy and effective at removing a good chunk of my makeup before I go in with an oil or balm. As it’s so creamy I don’t feel like I am dragging my skin at all with this and it’s so affordable!

Nivea Protect and Care 48 hour Anti-Perspirant*
Deodorant is something I like to have a few different options for and will switch daily as I find my armpits get quite used to products I use long term! Nivea recently released a new deodorant featuring the scent of Nivea crème which you all know I am obsessed with! It promises to be strong on sweat but gentle on skin while providing 48 hour protection. I’ve been using this for about three weeks now and while I haven’t tested the 48 hour claim, it lasts well throughout the day on me and as expected I love the scent, it’s so fresh and clean! It also comes in stick and spray form too and is available from Superdrug, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s!

I talked about this in an empties way back here when I was on my second bottle but didn’t repurchase till recently as I was finishing other serums (practising self-control for once!). I’m so glad to have this back in my routine, there is something about it I love. It’s quite a watery formulation but dries in quickly making my skin feel lovely and soft and hydrated throughout the day! I feel like it’s become a little more scented since I last used it but I could be wrong, it doesn’t affect my skin anyway and I still love it!

This is my second bottle of this stuff now and another product I’m glad to have back in my skincare routine! I use it after I tone at both night time and in the morning and press in with a cotton pad. I find on me it’s refreshing and helps calm any spots I have! It’s also meant to help with excess oiliness which I didn’t realise until now so I will be looking out for that too!

I don’t think I’ve ever spoke about this on my blog before but there is something about it I really like. I was enabled by Pixiwoo absolutely ages ago who used it as a primer and I find it really effective! It’s my moisturiser/primer of choice when I take hand luggage as it doubles up as both and saves me a lot of room while nicely moisturising and priming my skin and giving me a good base for my makeup.

This is without a doubt my favourite foundation and after going on a bit of a mission in the last month or so to find the perfect foundation without SPF, I can confirm that it can’t be done. For my skin anyway! I don’t wear this daily, it’s too expensive for that, but this is the only foundation I trust on a night out/if I have to get a photo taken (yes even with flash because at least I’ll look like a ghost with good skin!). I have combination skin and this mattifies it without clinging to any dry patches I have as well as seemingly looking better the longer I wear it. Not sure what magic it is but it’s one I will continue to repurchase again and again!

I have gone through so many bottles of this nail polish remover as it’s so effective! I don’t know if it’s clever marketing calling it “ultra cleansing” but it really does get my nail polish off so quickly and easily!

I picked this up a few weeks ago when it was on offer as curiosity got the better of me (I usually hate Revlon mascaras) but this has been a pleasant surprise! It’s quite a dry formula with a bristled brush and like the packaging says, gives me great volume and length, exactly what I look for in a mascara! I always get the waterproof version and it’s worked perfectly and I haven’t noticed any flaking either! I’m definitely not upset the old Revlon mascaras have been discontinued and want to try out more of the new range soon!

essie find me an oasis midnight cami

This is probably one of my favourite nail shades ever! It’s definitely not the most Spring/Summer appropriate but who cares about that when you see how pretty it is! It’s a deep navy blue with the most gorgeous understated shimmer. I have a whole post on it here with it on my nails too!

Essie Find Me an Oasis
A little more light for this time of year, Find Me an Oasis is the prettiest pastel blue I own! Essie really do the best pastel shades in my opinion! I love these mini polishes too that you can get in sets as I very rarely finish a full size nail polish!

So there are my favourite blue products or you know products that come in blue packaging! Have you tried any of them? What did you think?

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster collection set review eyeshadow blusher

Hi everyone! So I know I’ve been saying a lot recently that I’m going to be a bit more mindful of my spending and stop buying makeup because I certainly don’t need anymore, buuuut… I got some late Christmas money and a £10 off QVC voucher in the post last week and it would have been rude not to?

Anyway, I ended up getting this set and a blusher from the Illamasqua sale and I’m going to stop now! Hopefully. Tarte has always been high on my radar because it’s always been so hard to get a hold of in the UK but now through QVC it’s a lot easier and after being impressed by a mini blush set I got before Christmas I decided to treat myself to this set!

The Holiday Blockbuster Collection comes with four portable palettes each with four eye shadows and a blush, a Lip Surgence Lip Cream in the shade Ravishing and the Lights, Camera, Action 4-in-1 mascara. There is also a little holder included so you can take whichever palette you want with you on the go and the set cost’s £35.

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection inviting blush
Eye shadows clockwise from top: Sparkling Decor, Feeling Fizzy,Chocolate Fountain, Pop the Cork. Blusher: Inviting

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection jolly blush
Eye shadows clockwise from top: Tinsel & Tulle, Merry Mocktail, Plum Pudding,Vintage Cuff. Blush: Jolly

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection cozy blush
Eye shadows clockwise from top: Paper Snowflake, Up on the Rooftaupe, Sweater Weather, Light my Fire. Blush: Cozy

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection swanky blush
Eye shadows clockwise from top: Sequin Centerpiece, Suit & Tie, LBD, Platinum Bauble. Blush: Swanky
As with the Tarte blushers I've tried before, the four in this set are super pigmented and long-lasting! I’m usually not a fan of blushers in the same palette or side by side other products but the pans are a really good size so my brush doesn’t get mixed.

Similarly, the eye shadows are all neutrals with a nice mix of shimmer and matte shades and the palettes are all coordinated but obviously you can mix and match to your hearts content!

So far I’ve only tried out one palette of eye shadows and the payoff was brilliant and they lasted as well on me as my Urban Decay and Makeup Geek eye shadows! I've used two of the blushers and they are such gorgeous colours and give such a beautiful flush to my cheeks although I can imagine it could be easy to go overboard with the shade “Inviting” especially!
Tarte Lip Surgence Ravishing lip pencil swatch
I haven’t tried the mascara yet as I have a few I want to finish first but the Lip Surgence pencil is a lovely bright pink colour and has a minty scent. I think at some point I may look into depotting these into a Z palette as the main storage box is quite large if I did want to mix and match!

Tarte Holiday Blockbuster set review

Can you tell eye shadows and blushers are my weakness? Closely followed by lip products! I definitely feel like the blush and palette tag might be done at some stage this year! Have you tried any Tarte products before? What are your favourites?

SEVENTEEN: Old and New Favourites!

SEVENTEEN Boots favourite products makeup

Hi everyone! I've got a few quick reviews and swatches today of some of my old and new favourites from Boots own brand SEVENTEEN! Keep reading to see what I love from the brand!

First up are some old favourites of mine that I absolutely love. The Phwoarr Paint heavy duty under eye concealer in Fair (£5.49) comes in two shades of which I have the lightest. It is a very thick and creamy concealer that covers dark circles really well! As with other cream concealers I have, I like to use this with my ring finger in order to warm it up and blend it under my eye. I really like setting this with a separate powder I will talk about later in this post but this ensures it doesn’t settle into any fine lines around the eyes and that it lasts throughout the day. I also sometimes use it to conceal spots too and it does a good job at this as well!

SEVENTEEN Brows that! brow kit phoarr paint fair swatches

Brow’s That! brow kit £5.99
I feel like this was the original drugstore/highstreet brow kit! It was the first brow kit I owned anyway and I got it in one of Boots’ trusty free gift offers a few Christmases ago! I was actually using it to do my make up for New Year’s Eve at my friend’s house and she pulled out the same kit – we can’t resist a Boots bargain! It only comes in one shade but I find the colours are very cool toned and a great match for me, the wax and powder are not overly pigmented so perfect for an everyday look if you just want to define your eyebrows a bit. They can be made a little more dramatic if you also use the pencil before filling in with the wax and powder and I love the fact it’s so easily buildable and the highlight shade has a lovely shimmer to it that’s not too obviously glittery!

SEVENTEEN lipstick swatches beehive audition bold

Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive £4.79
I first bought this a few years back (when it was in the blue packaging – anyone remember?). Vivianna Does Makeup raved about it so I picked it up to see what all the fuss was about and fell in love with it! It is the perfect my lips but better nude, sheer, natural looking, glossy, moisturising lipstick and it’s a long standing favourite of mine! I haven’t done a top five favourite lipsticks yet but this would be on it! I love the new packaging too, when you open the lid a mini mirror pops out which is handy for on the go! I could apply this shade in the dark but it’s maybe more useful for the other shades in the range which I definitely need to check out!

Stay Pout lip colour in Audition* £4.49
These are SEVENTEEN’s long wear lip colours and Audition is a gorgeous bright pink blue toned colour (which makes your teeth appear whiter)! I am completely in my comfort zone with pinks as well as corals as opposed to reds and this lipstick applies so smoothly and sits so comfortably on my lips it doesn’t dry them out at all! It’s not totally opaque and I find I still have a little bit of slip on my lips which is probably why I like the formula so much as its not drying. It lasts a really good amount of time on me and you can layer it on for a really bright pink colour which I would for a night out or apply it lightly for a gorgeous stain that lasts hours and really brightens up the face!

Lip Crayon in Bold* £4.99
I love lip crayons like this for throwing in my bag when I want a bit of colour, moisture and don’t have time to look in a mirror to apply! It’s a gorgeous coral colour with loads of shine that’s so easy to top up throughout the day! Like I said, pink and coral colours are my go to, they suit me and I look healthier with a bit of colour on my lips! Saying that, I do want to give the berry shade a go next!

SEVENTEEN define and conquer contour kit in medium

SEVENTEEN define and conquer contour kit in medium swatches

Define and Conquer contour kit in Medium* £5.99
I was so excited to receive this as I have eyed this up in Boots many a time and swatched the shades only to find they were all sold out! It seems to be one of SEVENTEEN’s most popular products and rightly so! I could not wait to get this out of the packaging! It comes in two shades, of which I have the darkest and originally I thought it was going to be too warm toned for me but thankfully I was wrong! This is buttery soft and blends like a dream leaving a realistic shadow on my cheekbone and no harsh lines! What I love most about this kit though is the fact the highlight shade is matte! I will get so much more use out of it and have been using it to set the my Phwoarr paint concealer under my eyes where it brightens really well! I love the sleek black packaging too!

SEVENTEEN falsifeye HD mascara wand

Falsifeye HD mascara in Blackest Black*£6.99
Finally, we have the Falsifye HD mascara! I love the plastic wand which has two different sides, one with shorter bristles and one with longer. This really coats my lashes evenly and I like to twist this as I apply which really separates and fan out my lashes! It doesn’t clump at all and the wand easily combs through my lashes. I always do two coats with any mascara I use and this gives me so much separation and length! Although I would usually choose the waterproof version of any mascara I’m using, I've been so impressed with the staying power of this one! I don’t often put mascara on my bottom lashes but the size of this mascara wand would make it perfect if you did!

So there we have my old and new favourites from SEVENTEEN! They are always on offer in Boots and there really is no reason not to have a swatching session when they have so much choice at brilliant quality and reasonable prices!  They also have a ton of new releases making their way into stores and I for one cannot wait have a look at the new makeup brushes and powder blushers!

SEVENTEEN have also recently launched their Blogger Network which is free to sign up to and includes loads of product information, news, makeup trends and tips!

What’s your favourite SEVENTEEN product or what would you most like to try?

Product Empties #4

product empties ft nivea emma hardie soap and glory REN mane n tail tressemme maybelline sleek

Hi everyone! I have another empties post today and I can’t believe this is my 4th so I will get straight into it as its product heavy as usual!

body care empties soap and glory whipped clean on me nivea

Bodycare
Soap and Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter 250ml
At risk of sounding like a broken record, while I love Soap and Glory, I usually stick to my two favourite scents, Original Pink and Mist you Madly, as I’m not a huge fan of their other scents. This shower butter is scented of pistachio, almond and sweet vanilla and while I’m sure most people love it I get sick of it quite quickly! I got through this tube really quickly and definitely prefer the pump body washes which I think last a lot longer. This is however nicely moisturising as it has cocoa and Shea butters, grapeseed, sweet almond and macadamia nut oils and is great to use if you are shaving your legs! I wouldn’t repurchase this but I happily use it up when I have it!

Soap and Glory Clean on Me shower gel mini 75ml
This is one of my favourite scents! I regularly go through the big ones of these too but had a mini lying round in my back up supply (lol) so thought I may as well as use it! Constant repurchase!

Nivea Soft moisturising cream 300ml
This stuff is a constant repurchase for me! I won’t bore you to death because I've spoken about it a few times before but in short I love this! It smells fresh and clean and absorbs really quickly!

haircare empties mane n tail tressemme hairspray 24hr body REN

Hair care
Mane n Tail Shampoo 355ml
I picked this up around Christmas last year as I’d heard using horse shampoo was meant to give you really shiny hair. I found the consistency of this a lot like the Aussie shampoos and I didn’t mind the smell although it was quite different to the normal shampoos I use. I didn’t find any drastic difference in my hair while using this and it didn’t make it any shinier than other cheaper shampoos so I will not repurchase!

TRESemme 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray 250ml
I’m so glad I have finally finished this! That's not to say I didn't like this but this stuff was never ending and I'm currently working on finishing another product from the same range that I've had for ages too. I love the smell of this and it didn't weigh my hair down or make it greasy but as I have long hair with long layers nothing gives it volume so I don't think this did much! I would definitely repurchase this but I'd rather it came in a smaller size as I got a bit bored of using it constantly!

REN Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo 50ml
I got this in a mini REN travel kit and only got round to using it recently. As suspected I didn’t get many uses out of it but I’m glad I didn’t have more to use as I really didn’t like it. I wasn’t a massive fan of the smell and I found it very hard to lather in my hair so I wouldn’t repurchase.

TRESemme Salon Finish Freeze Hold Hairspray 250ml
I really liked this hairspray; it didn't leave my hair crispy or tatty and kept it straighter for longer when I sprayed it. My hair doesn't hold volume well in general but definitely did for a lot longer with this! It’s not my favourite scent and I’m not overly loyal to hairsprays so I will probably try a few before picking this up again!

skincare empties nivea emma hardie moringa garnier eye makeup remover

Skincare
Nivea Lotion 260ml
This is my first choice first cleanser in the evenings and is a habit passed on from my mum who loves the stuff too! I find it lovely and cooling on the skin and it does a great job of removing most of my makeup without dragging my skin. I will follow this up usually with an oil or balm based cleanser. Already repurchased and using!

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm 50ml
I love this stuff! I bought it in a set at Christmas but only started using it a few months ago and was surprised at how long it lasted me considering the tub is tiny, but a little goes a long way with this! I don't love the scent, it's quite orangey, but the balm is so soothing on the skin and used with a warm flannel leaves my skin really soft and well cleansed. I have a few sample sizes of oils and other cleansers to use up but I will 100% be repurchasing this in the future even with the price tag! Definitely one that’s worth the hype!

Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover 125ml
I've spoken about this before in another empties post too but I love this stuff! It’s so gentle and doesn’t pull my eyes. I find it to be really effective at removing my waterproof mascara and eye makeup because of the oil in it. It doesn’t burn my eyes which can be quite sensitive and get dry easily as I wear contacts daily! Already repurchased and using and if you are in the market for an effective eye makeup remover this is your guy!

makeup empties maybelline colossal mascara max factor clump defy sleek brow stylist collection lasting perfection concealer

Makeup
Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara
I really like this mascara and its one I consistently go back to when it’s on offer or I need the third thing in a 3 for 2 offer! The wand is big and bristly and gives me a nice amount of volume without clumping my eyelashes together. I featured this ages ago in one of my first posts about products I wanted to get used up because I have had it for ages (way longer than three months) but it just didn’t dry up and was making my lashes look so good! I decided enough was enough though and eventually put it to the side because the length of time I had it was getting a bit ridiculous! Will definitely repurchase!

Max Factor Clump Defy by False Lash Effect Water Resistant Mascara
False lash effect is my favourite mascara ever so I thought I would try this clump defy version for a change. This also featured in the post about products I was trying to use up because again, this would just not dry up and was making my lashes look so good I couldn’t bear to throw it away! It has a plastic spoon wand and really separated and lengthened my lashes. Will definitely repurchase!

Collection Lasting Perfection in Fair 1
I don't understand the hype with this concealer! Don’t get me wrong I do like it but I definitely don’t love it and prefer concealers such as NYX HD concealer and Soap and Glory Kick Ass over this! It is a great budget concealer which I use for spots more so than under the eye but I do go over my spots again with a second concealer as it doesn’t cover them completely. I do however have a backup of this so maybe I do believe the hype haha.

Sleek Brow Stylist in Dark
I really like this brow pencil! It has a spoolie on the end which is so handy (I lost the cap ages ago) and a slanted twist up nib that gives good colour payoff so you don’t need a sharpener. It’s quick and easy to use and give me defined brows quickly! I have already repurchased this but as you will have seen in this post, I have quite a lot of other brow products on the go at the moment so I haven’t opened it yet!

So there we go, another ridiculously long empties post! Sorry! Have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned? What did you think of them?

Stuff I'm trying to use up #1

So, I have a lot of makeup. Before I start buying/opening more there are a few things I want to get finished up, either because I don’t overly like them anymore or I’m starting to feel I’ve had them for a long time. Really need to start writing opening dates on my stuff…

Revlon Photoready Powder
I used to love this powder but it doesn’t mattify my foundation enough and I look shiny two hours after applying now. It has a subtle glitter/sparkle running through it and looks good when it’s just been applied but I’ve become so disappointed with its staying powder. I want to get it finished up but I won’t be repurchasing.

Max Factor Clump Defy Volumising Mascara in Black Waterproof
This and the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara are my favourite mascaras and I have so many backups in my drawer at the minute because I always buy them when they are on offer. I feel like I have been using this for AGES and it is still not finished/ dried up. It makes my lashes volumised, lengthened and super black and has a curved wand so I like to so my first coat with the “thin” end then second coat with the “fat” end. This doesn’t flake or transfer on me

Maybelline Volume Express The Colossal Mascara in Black Waterproof
I’m a big fan of this mascara too and this one is definitely starting to dry up slightly now! Again I find it builds up both length and volume in my lashes with two coats and makes them look nice and defined. Again it doesn’t flake or transfer on me either unlike some waterproof mascaras I have tried on the past.

Max Factor Mastertouch Concealer
I’ve gone through loads of these concealers over the years and think this will be the last time I repurchase. They have a small colour selection I think of three colours so it can be hard to match to skin tone and I find the coverage with this is not as good as some other concealers I have. It has a twist up wand to release the concealer and I know some people won’t like the sponge applicator but I don’t mind it.

Soap and Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush
I’m a huge fan of Soap and Glory makeup and have owned the original Archery pencil that has the marker pen at one end as well as this. The little spoolie on the end is lovely and sturdy for brushing through brows and the pencil (I have the brown shade) is very thin and perfect for making brow strokes. I do really like this pencil but I also have the Soap and Glory D-I-Y Brow Bar kit and I prefer the finish of powders so I want to get this used up! I’ve also heard it’s meant to be a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz but I haven’t tried it!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I don’t really get the fuss with this concealer that seems to be everyone’s holy grail. I don’t mind it but I have better concealers so I want to finish it up. I don’t use this under the eyes, I really only use it for blemishes and use it to cover any I have up before following with foundation. It is however great of you are on a budget!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lovers Coral
I never thought I would get this far down in a lipstick but I love this one! It gives such a lovely shiny peachy pink tint to the lips and really brightens up my face. I already have a backup of this waiting to go it’s my favourite lipstick!
