Skincare Review | Bondi Sands Everyday Skincare

bondi sands everyday skincare review

I got sent the cutest package from Bondi Sands’ new(ish) skincare range a few months ago so thought it was about time I wrote about them! If you are a regular reader, you’ll know how much I love their self-tan range so I was excited to see they had expanded into skincare! I was sent three products to try but there are plenty more in the range and they come under five categories – cleanse, treat, hydrate, protect and mask. Bondi Sands are an Australian brand, vegan and cruelty free and as well as having a vast tanning and skincare range they also do bodycare and suncare!

The product that immediately stood out to me after only a few uses was the Thirsty Skin Hyaluronic Acid RRP £8.99*. I tend to have expensive taste when it comes to hyaluronic acid so I was only too happy to find a budget formulation I love! This one is the thickest formula I have tried, and I love the gel texture! It spreads easily, leaving my skin feeling soft and supple, locking in moisture and plumping and filling out my fine lines! As well as HA, it also contains glycerin and is an all-round goodie if you are looking a budget HA serum! See more here!

Next up is the Bondi Babe Clay Mask RRP £11.99* and it’s another hit! This is a blue clay mask that purifies and detoxifies skin to help clear complexion. It contains blue spirulina extract (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties), bentonite clay (to soak up excess sebum) and Red Algae Extract (helps reduce redness). It dries down quickly but doesn’t make my skin feel tight and after washing off after 10-15 minutes, my skin feels so soft and looks so much more refined and clearer! This has quickly become one of my favourite clay masks and it doesn’t feel harsh or drying at all!

Lastly, to round up this trio, is the Sweet Dreams Night Moisturiser RRP £10.99*! This has a lightweight consistency and contains hyaluronic acid for hydration, squalane to soften and blue algae extract to smooth. This has worked well for me during the summer but I think during winter I will want something heavier! Despite feeling lighter than other night creams I use, this does keep my skin hydrated overnight and when I wake up, my face feels plump and nourished. I will probably mix this with an oil in winter if I want an extra hit of hydration!

I also have to mention the packaging – how cute? It’s so kitsch and I love it! It almost reminds of my toy skincare or something, it’s so dinky! It’s all recyclable too and the products are fragrance free.

Overall, my first foray into Bondi Sands skincare has been a success and I think they are well worth checking out! The stand outs for me are the clay mask and hyaluronic acid! As well as their own website, Bondi Sands skincare is also available from Cult Beauty, Boots and Look Fantastic! Have you tried anything? What’s your favourite budget beauty brand?

Forever Repurchased #7

Welcome back! I have a few products I want to mention today that I have recently repurchased as I hate being without them in my routine! As a side note I took a bunch of photos last weekend for blog posts but who knows if they will ever see the light of day, I enjoy taking photos but can’t seem to find the time to do the write ups!

skincare essentials dr jart origins vichy january labs mabel and meg

I first discovered this cream last winter in Canada and boy oh boy did I fall in love! This works so well with my dehydrated skin keeping moisture locked in all day long and soothing my skin. It doesn’t feel greasy and a little goes a long way so the tube lasts ages and it also works really well as a primer! An absolute must have! I got mine on offer at Look Fantastic just after Christmas!

This actually featured not so long ago but I couldn’t resist including it again as I repurchased so soon! This overnight mask has been a staple in my routine for years and I have lost count of how many minis and full sizes I have gone through! It feels amazing overnight and I always wake up to soft, plump skin!

Another Origins favourite (their face masks really are the best!) and another one I hate not having in my routine! This leaves my skin feeling super smooth and looking clearer. It minimises my pores but doesn’t strip my skin and I always come back to this if I am having a breakout as it actually feels like it works with one use!

Escentual had something ridiculous like 50% off this just before Christmas so I took the opportunity to repurchase! It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve had it in my routine but this use to be one of my favourite skincare products so I have high hopes I will still feel the same! I haven’t opened just yet but I always remember it to be lightweight, cooling and hydrating!

Again, another just before Christmas repurchase and I am bloody glad I did as Cult Beauty aren’t selling the brand anymore! I am gutted about this! This is my favourite facial mist, it’s so refreshing, soothing and hydrating and just works so well with my acne prone skin.  Really hope they get another UK base to sell from as I don’t want custom fees on this one!

Probably one of my favourite hyaluronic acid serums and I have tried a lot. This one also contains Vitamin C so works really well on pigmentation as well as adding to hydration. It spreads really easily over my face and leaves my skin feeling smooth ready for my next skincare steps! I’ve lost count over how much I have repurchased this one and I will continue to do so!

So that's my most recent forever repurchased! See any of your favourites here? I have one more of these to finish off but I am currently on my version of a spending ban (a try not to buy) so we'll see how that goes! Haven't bought any makeup or skincare this month so far so hoping it continues!

Forever Repurchased #5

forever repurchased

Since coming home from Canada, I have been adding some of my favourites back into my routine as I was working on finishing up a lot of products before I left! It is so good to have some firm favourites back in my routine so here are my forever repurchased take 5!

I have lost count of how many of these I have gone through now after first buying two years ago when I was in Canada. I first dabbled with the pressed version quite a while back but this loose version is 10x better! It mattifies my skin without drying it out, adds subtle extra coverage and a pot lasts ages! Well worth its price tag but I managed to snag this one at 20% off on Feel Unique so always worth shopping around!

NIOD copper amino isolate 2:1 review

Another slightly new formulation to me, I loved the original version of this and the update is just as good! This serum is such an all-rounder, my skin is always clearer and more even when I use it consistently! It’s also good for aging skin and is just generally very good for the overall health of your skin!

This is the product that has been out of my routine the longest and one that I am so happy to have back in it! I have dabbled with other rosehip oils but always come back to Trilogy specifically, there is literally one ingredient in rosehip oil so I’m not sure why, but I can feel a difference and this one is my favourite! My skin always feels so nourished and hydrated after every use and it’s a lot brighter and smoother in the mornings!

One of my favourite overnight treatments, this mask is super hydrating and I always wake up to plump, moisturised skin! I use this several times a week so will definitely buy the full size next time as it’s just so good and I run out of my minis quickly. They recently updated the ingredients to include avocado and swiss glacier water and I was worried the new formulation would be different but I’m happy to say it’s still working just as well for me!

Another firm favourite in my routine although one that’s getting harder to find! This is very moisturising and brightens my under eye giving a great base for makeup! I used to get it from Cult Beauty but they have stopped stocking them so I hope they are not leaving the UK!

I actually have a few other products I recently repurchased but didn’t want this post to be a massive essay, maybe I will do another one soon! If you’d like to see the previous posts in this series, please see below! What is one product you can’t do without?

See #1, #2, #3 and #4 in this series!

Skincare Review | Nourishing my Skin with Burt’s Bees

Burt's Bees skincare review

Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip balm is possibly my favourite lipbalm of all time so I was more than a little excited to get to try out a few more products from their extensive skincare line! With no phthalates, parabens, petrolatum or SLS and no animal testing, Burt’s Bees is earth friendly and natural!

Your skin is your biggest organ and Burt’s Bees harness the power of nature to offer a range of skincare solutions that deep clean, hydrate and reveal beautiful skin naturally. I received a cleanser, two items from the Intense Hydration range and a moisturiser from the Sensitive range and here’s what I thought!

For reference, I have a mixed bag of skin – its oily/combo, dehydrated in parts and blemish prone!

burts bees cleansing oil intense hydration treatment mask review

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Oil with Coconut and Argan Oils* RRP £16.99
I love the scent of this oil, it’s a very lightweight coconut scent that isn’t overpowering at all!
The oils help keep skin soft, clean and nourished and it gently removes my makeup with ease without leaving an oily residue behind. My eyes are a little sensitive to this so I tend to avoid that area. I do a first cleanse on my eyes with the Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect eye makeup remover which gets my waterproof makeup off so this isn’t a problem for me but if you have sensitive eyes like me go gently! I’ve been using this every other evening since I got it a month ago and I can’t get over how little it’s gone down – one full pump is way too much for my face and it’s so easy to just pump out half so I can see this lasting me ages! It’s also 100% natural!

The Intense Hydration range is infused with Clary Sage and is scientifically proven to intensely hydrate dry skin and also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The formula helps increase the skins ability to retain moisture so dry skin is left feeling soft and supple for a revitalised look.

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask* RRP £19.99
The directions for use for this mask are to apply a thick layer over cleansed skin and leave on for 5-10 minutes then remove excess with a tissue and massage in the rest. My skin has been lapping this up! For a quick injection of hydration this is brilliant, I can’t get over how much has sunk in when I go back after 10 minutes and I generally skip the tissue part and just massage the rest in. This leaves my skin feeling soft and supple as well as fully hydrated and replenished. Its 99% natural and comes in a massive tube so again will last ages!

burts bees intense hydration night cream review

The 99% natural night cream feels really thick and hydrating and I find the Clary Sage scent very calming. This cream is easily spread over my skin and absorbs really well! When I wake up my skin feels softer and smoother and - though I have been using a lot of products recently that target fine lines and wrinkles so it might not all be down to this product – I am so happy with the reduction in fine lines on my forehead and I find I’m not getting as many dry patches! I think my skin will love this even more in Winter when my skin is prone to more dryness! While the glass jar feels luxe this isn’t travel friendly so that’s the only change I would make!

burts bees sensitive daily moisturizing cream review

The Sensitive range is scientifically proven to moisturise sensitive skin without over drying or causing redness. It’s formulated with softening Cotton extract to help skin replenish its outer layer while minimising the effects of potential irritants while rice extract moisturisers and aloe soothes your skin. It’s a fragrance free, lightweight, non-greasy moisturiser that absorbs into my skin quickly and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated ready for my makeup. I have basically stopped wearing a separate primer due to this moisturiser and a few others because they work so well under makeup! As you would expected from a moisturiser that’s formulated for sensitive skin; it’s hypoallergenic, non comedogenic, dermatologist tested and its 99% natural.

Overall, I’m really impressed with my foray into the Burt’s Bees skincare range and love how they make my skin feel! At first glance, the price point was higher than I had expected but after using these products they are definitely worth the money for the amount of product you get and how well they work on my skin!

Burt’s Bees also have a radiance range as well as anti-blemish solutions and are available from Boot’s where there is usually an offer to be had on 3 for 2 etc.!
