Skincare Review | K Beauty Favourites #3

k beauty favourites

Time for part three of my K Beauty Favourites! I’ve been using all of these for quite a while now and have been loving them in my routine! It’s also been ten years since I started this blog (next week to be exact) which is crazy! Anyway, let’s get on to some reviews!

sioris drops of omija review

Sioris Drops of Omija Calming Ampoule*

This is a beautiful, lightweight, calming serum that leave my skin feeling soft and soothed. It contains cica, floral extracts as well as propanediol and trehalose for long-lasting moisture. I use this when my skin is feeling sensitised, or I want to simplify my routine as it’s so hydrating! It works well to reduce inflammation and soothe redness and I think helps repair my barrier aswell!

Sioris Drops of Omija Calming Mist*

The matching mist is even more beautiful! I went through this so quickly as I loved it so much! It’s an antioxidant and inflammatory mist that contains 34% Omija extract, Centella Asiatica extract, aloe vera leaf juice, Zinc PCA and beta-glucan and is so soothing and calming! My skin feels hydrated, redness is reduced and my skin barrier feels strong! Preferred this to the infamous Sioris Time is Running Out Mist! This also featured in my Best Beauty Discoveries of 2024 post here!

Mixsoon Bean Essence*

This is a viscous essence (think snail mucin) but it contains fermented soybean extract to hydrate and control sebum. It’s also got fermented pomegranate which is a natural AHA and fermented Korean pear, an antioxidant that brightens and repairs the skin. I love this for both morning and evening and it feels hydrating and smoothing!

Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence*

A creamy essence with kombucha tea extract and green tea leaf water, it’s hydrating and balancing and feels very lightweight! Essence is the first thing I forget about in my routine but I definitely need to remember to use this more as it makes my skin feel so soft!

Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Gel Cream*

Another product from the Kombucha Tea line and this is the perfect summer moisturiser! It’s a gel formula and feels cooling on the skin as well as lightweight. It’s not quite hydrating enough for me in the winter but is perfect for the summer months and for oily or combo skin! The Kombucha helps strengthen the moisture barrier and balance oil production while green tea extract has antioxidant properties.

By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream*

A really solid, gentle, retinal and bakuchiol combo in a handy pump bottle! This has a yellow colour to it due to the retinol, feels lightweight and sinks in quickly. My skin has never reacted to it so it would be perfect for beginners to retinal and it leaves my skin feeling smooth, plump and hydrated!

k beauty favourites spfs

Dr Ceuracle Cica Regen Vegan Sun SPF50+ PA++++*

Absolutely obsessed with this SPF, it also featured in my Best Beauty Discoveries of last year which I linked earlier! It is a chemical sunscreen formulated with centella asiatica extract and bamboo complex and helps calms inflammation and protects skin against external aggressors. It’s has a lightweight cream texture and it absorbs quickly into skin leaving no white cast and doesn’t pill! I love the antioxidant properties! Seems to be out of stock currently but hopefully it’s back soon!

Anua Heartleaf Silky Moisture Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++*

Another great chemical SPF! This one is also anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich, sinks in quickly, leaves no white cast and doesn’t pill! As well as heartleaf, it contains panthenol, so feels calming on my skin and it help controls oil so is perfect for my combo skin! There is no eye stinging with either of these SPF’s either! Neither are fully matte but both are perfect bases under my makeup!

Beauty Spend Report | May 2022

beauty spend report daniellesbeautyblog

It’s been a bad month of spending and I feel like my self control has completely abandoned me at this point unfortunately. Working from home combined with it being super quiet at the minute means more scrolling time for me and coupled with some good offers I couldn’t pass up, we have another haul!

beauty haul daniellesbeautyblog

Starting with my mini Essence haul as I was in Dublin at the start of the month. I didn’t have much luck with the Lash Princess waterproof mascara I got in March unfortunately as it smudges under my eyes but their products are so affordable I wanted to try the Bye Bye Panda Eyes Smudgeproof Mascara which so far seems to be holding up much better! I also grabbed their Brighten Up Banana Powder which I am really enjoying – it’s not cakey at all under my eyes! These were €4.40 and €3.75 respectively so around £6.99 according to my currency converter!

I then made a little Pat McGrath order for another one of the Skin Fetish: Divine Blushes this time in the shade Nymphette. I previously got Divine Rose last year which is a demi-matte shade and I absolutely love it so wanted to try the satin formula. These are usually £30 but it was on sale for £23.

Cult Beauty got me with a £5 account credit that was expiring and since I had been planning to buy the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation which is normally £37.50 I took it as a sign… They also had an offer on for a free makeup bag (£15) when you spend £45 on makeup so I also grabbed the Vieve Eye Wand in Sand (£21) despite not using the Camel shade I got last year as it’s too dark for me for every day. Unfortunately, Sand is not the neutral sandy shade I was hoping for based off swatches but again a rather warm colour just not as dark as camel so again, I’m not sure how much use I will get out of it. I went hunting for a discount code and thankfully found one for 15% off so this came to £44.72 instead of £58.50.

Boots were then having a 25% off Fenty Beauty offer so I picked up a replacement Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer in the shade Inda Sun as the pan is huge on my old one and I got it about three years ago now! This is normally £27 but I got it for £20.25. I also got myself the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in Butter in a separate order as I’d been wanting to try that for a while too and 25% is the most discount, I have seen them do. This is normally £26 and I got it for £19.50.

Then, Colourpop had free shipping and I found a 10% off code so have been meaning to try the brand again as it’s been years since I had anything, so I got the eyeshadow quad in Dare to Bare (£7.40 instead of £8.23), glowing lip in Cockatoo (£5.18 instead of £5.76) and pressed powder blush in Flirt Alert (£7.40 instead of £8.23). £4.45 tax and duties were added on so this came to £24.43 altogether instead of £26.67-ish. See my first Colourpop haul in this blast from the past blog post!

Finally, towards the end of the month ASOS had 20% off and while ordering a few pairs of slides (which I sent back) I needed to spend £35 to get free delivery (I swear that’s gone up from £25 recently?) and instead of just ordering a t shirt or something I could return easily, I spied the & Other Stories Miami Muse gift set. I had tried the hand cream in the Dublin store at the start of the month and really loved the scent but didn’t buy it so just treated myself *face palm*. This was £8.80 instead of £11.

So, a pretty good month for gifts to myself and a bad month for saving Overall this month’s beauty expenditure came to £147.69 instead of £186.16. If you want to see last month’s click here! Let me know what beauty products you have been buying recently!

Beauty Spend Report | February and March 2022

I’m back with a combined beauty spend report as I had a low spend month in February! If only they could all be like that!

daniellesbeautyblog february march beauty spend report 2022

In February, along with a £20 subscription to the Liberty Beauty Drop Box, I repurchased two products. The first of which being a Real Techniques Setting Brush. I honestly can’t remember how long I had my original brush – it featured on my blog for the first time in 2015 and would have lasted many more years if I hadn’t lost it So mad at myself but I think I must have left it in a hotel room because I turned my bedroom upside down and couldn’t find it. I use it daily so picked the replacement up from Amazon as that’s where I found it for the cheapest price at £6.07 (RRP £7.99). The new version has a pink base rather than black and I would say it feels very slightly different though that could be because mine was so old! Anyway, it’s the best size for setting under the eye and eyelid too and I can’t recommend it enough!

I also just finished my favourite eye makeup remover so grabbed another Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover for £1.99 from Savers. If you wear waterproof mascara you need this in your life! It’s a bio phase formula and the oil works to break down makeup all while being super gentle, not stinging eyes or leaving a fuzzy film over them! See more here! My total for February was £28.06.

Moving onto March now and as well as another £20 billing for the Liberty beauty box subscription, I picked up three Revlon Colorstay Foundations for Oily/Combo skin in the shade Buff as it was on 3 for 2 in Boots. Normally this is £12.99 per bottle so instead of £38.97 altogether it was £25.98 and because I had some vouchers from Christmas I only paid £3.37. Side note, when are Boots going to introduce being able to use gift cards online? So annoying. Anyway, this is my go-to work foundation as I don’t like wearing my more expensive foundations when I am just working from home! I have been repurchasing for years and it’s a great, long lasting, full coverage foundation and Buff is a perfect match for me! I don’t wear much drugstore makeup anymore, but this is one I always have in my collection! See more here!

Another trip to Savers for essentials resulted in me picking up some more dry shampoo – the Schwarzkopf dry shampoos feature heavily in my empties but I think I forget to add them into my spend reports as to me they are quite boring but £1.99 can’t be beaten! I also had a lovely trip to Prague in the middle of the month and took the opportunity to grab the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Waterproof mascara which worked out at £3.10.

Moving onto a few more exciting end of the month purchases and I finally picked up the Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle cream blush in Petal Poppin that I have wanted for ages! It’s usually £21 but Boots had 15% off and then a further 5% off for Mother’s Day making this £16.96. Lastly, I made a Look Fantastic order for a backup of the Barry M lip scrub which is just as good as my old favourite from Lush! Unfortunately, they didn’t have the mint flavour I wanted so I picked up bubblegum – it’s usually £4.99 but there’s always a 20% off code! I also grabbed the Maison Margiela Replica Memory Box 10 x 2ml as I have wanted to smell these for ages and this was £33 but I got 20% off too and also had a £5 credit on my account so this haul cost me £25.01 altogether instead of £37.99.

My total for March was £70.43 instead of £122.39 thanks to those discounts and gift cards and the total for the two months was £98.49. I think I am due another beauty box from Liberty in the middle of this month after which I might cancel the subscription. I have £80 in the account now but have to say I don’t find their beauty section that good so I’m not sure what I will pick up yet!
